Theory Review

What is a Green Building

Green Buildings are high performance structures that also
meet certain standards for reducing natural resource
consumption

Green or Sustainable buildings are

characterized by:

Efficient management of energy and water resources

Management of material resources and waste
restoration and protection of environmental quality
enhancement and protection of health and indoor environmental quality
reinforcement of natural systems
analysis of the life cycle costs and benefits of materials and methods
integration of the design decision-making process

Motivational Factor to Reduce Water Consumption

Internal Factor, came from rasional consideration about the advantages for being

efficient. (ex: cost reduction of electricity and water metering)

The lack of literature on the implementation of sustainable water for domestic
engineering In Indonesia
2. Technical Aspects of Implementation of Sustainable Water Engineering at Hotel
Water recycling and water reduce at the Holiday Inn in general can be an example for
the engineering of water that can be applied to all
Rainwater is used for flushing the toilet should be used for other needs clean water
There is no sufficient information regarding the handling of waste water at the hotel
Water Sense technology requires expensive investment costs
Another Effort than can be implemented by not using bathtube and use double flushing
toilet
3. Technical Aspects of Implementation of Sustainable Water Engineering at Settlement
Water reuse and water reclamation in Serpong Summarecon housing can be an
example for other settlement areas by build the infrastructure first before the
settlement

In an effort to popularize the concept of Green Building, held the race for hotels
and housing to obtain a variety of awards in the form of awards such as the
Green Hotel Award, or Green Company Achievement achieved by Summarecon
Serpong.
5. Aspects of Publications and Dissemination
(public works minister Regulation No. 9/2015)
Ministrial Decree has been announced describing about technical guidance for
stakeholders to implementing of water resources usage. This guidance should
accompanied by publications and dissemination to the target groups of
constructions (provincial government, district and city government, developers,
and consultants).
