Filipinos are resilient

Whether its Bohol Earthquake, Typhoon Ondoy and Yolanda, Valenzuela Fire and the
Eruption of Mt. Pinatubo, it has brought out the enviable traits of the Filipinos. Disaster upon
disaster, the true essence of being Filipino shows. Everyone wants to be identified as Filipino
as a resilient, generous spirit.
Since time, we are tested by countless calamities; volcanic eruptions, devastating
earthquake and lahar flows, super typhoons, flash floods and landslides. Triumphantly, we
surmounted these pains and trials, beyond the imagination of the human race.
Instant death of our love ones, claimed by transportation mishaps and natural disasters,
thousands also die in hunger and malnutrition, including ambushes and endless wars in
Mindanao, they trampled our basic human rights, such as right to live.
Filipinos are survivors, the wrath of our nature and cruel destiny may steal everything
from us, our wealth, properties, and family, but we, Filipinos never give up. As we are
continuously scourged by the test of time, the spirit to survive and to bounce back remains
undefeated.
Filipinos unite in the midst of crisis, regardless of socio-economic status, tradition and
belief, the world has seen the noble spirit of the Filipinos in crucial times. We may be frightened
by the horrible scenes around us. But certainly, we will be strengthened by our unwavering
faith in God.
I believe that Filipinos, divided by varied doctrines and cultures, are capable to be on top
of any situation, if united. Together, we can face any challenge ahead of us. We may stumble
and fall but we will bounce back, arm stronger with vision and faith, that after darkness, after
pains and sufferings, the Filipinos survive, the Filipinos are resilient.

Filipinos are Industrious

The Filipino generation today, are found to be industrious, where Filipino professionals
also proves the quality of our peoples hard work as they contribute small things that creates a
big difference.
Before the rooster crows, the Filipino farmer is already up to prepare for farming. In the
fields, while under the heat of the sun or in the cold rain, he tills the land and plants the
seedlings and then reaping it happily. The Filipino miners dig inside the dangerous mountains
and other sites for gold, nickel, silver, copper, gypsum, zinc, chromites, and other minerals.
The Filipino industrial workers perform well in electronics, or the making of
semiconductors and microcircuits, which are integral components of computers, television,
radio, radar, medical and electrical equipment, and other devices. While others, produce
garments, textiles, shoes, leather, rubber, automotive parts, canned foods, furniture, handicrafts,
and more.
The Filipino teachers, physicians, nurses, dentists, lawyers, judges, and employees
manage our schools, hospitals, clinics, courts, and offices. The policemen are tasked to protect
the lives and properties of the citizens, and to maintain peace and order in the communities. The
defense of the sovereignty and territory of our republic is vested on our soldiers.
The Filipino engineers, architects, and technicians direct the designing, construction, and
maintenance of our roads, bridges, and etc. Working together with the professions, industries,
and government are the carpenters, masons, electricians, pipe fitters, mechanics, postmen,
bakers, cooks, sellers, drivers, tailors, carvers, gardeners, utility personnel, cleaners, agents, and
many others.
If they cannot find livelihoods in their own land, many Filipinos go abroad. Almost ten
million have already been to other countries. They leave their loved ones, go to places whose
cultures and ways of living they do not know, and take whatever work to earn for the food,
clothing, housing, education, medication, and future of those they leave behind. They endure all
the hardships so that they and their loved ones would be able to live with dignity and hope.
It is not true that we, Filipinos are lazy or tamad. We Filipinos are industrious. And we
ourselves are the witnesses to our daily work, sweating, and striving in our country or in other
lands.

Filipinos are Helpful

Filipinos are helpful. We help one another withstand difficult problems. We have been
hit by all kinds of calamities, such as floods, typhoons, and earthquakes. We have experienced
hard times in life but we continue to live. We do not easily give up. We help others not only
during calamities, but anytime we feel others need us.
Filipinos help one another to fulfill one's goal. Filipinos don't have to think twice when
seeing people difficult with what his/her doing, Filipinos did their best as possible as they can to
help.
It is maybe from being a thoughtful person of every Filipino. Isnt this characteristic,
amazing? It only shows that Filipinos are not greedy, in fact we are ready to give time, attention,
strength and also material things. It is not only their self they put first but also others because
they value them.
Today Filipinos has a way in volunteerism, where volunteering can be considered as a
manifestation of bayanihan, motivated by our old ritual race. And with the existing social and
cultural emphasis on the value of being matulungin, volunteering in fact becomes a trophy.
Bayanihan which is helping others, is common among us especially in the rural areas.
This trait is distinct to us Filipinos. It helps us finish our work faster and easier.
The onslaught of Ondoy and Yolanda that wrought widespread havoc in many cities
and municipalities in our country showed exemplary concern from countless of Filipinos all over
the world who delivered all possible assistance, financial and otherwise, to their afflicted
compatriots. Certainly, such outstanding Filipino traits will prove their worth in the ages to
come.
In the recent crisis the values of bayanihan, at pagkamatulungin served not only to
strengthen solidarity amongst Filipinos, but more importantly, it motivated people to respond to
needs that were inefficiently addressed by the existing socio-political channels, and to engage in
social action in order to create impact. In light of this, these Filipino core values which incite
people towards responsiveness to the existing needs and conditions of their fellows have the
potential to bring people together for social change

Filipinos are Skillful

In every field of expertise, there will always be a Filipino that represents our nation. It is
because Filipinos are naturally born with talents and abilities given by our creator. This gift from
GOD should be enhanced for the benefit of this nation.
I guess, we know some, or few people who are living a successful life although they
didnt finish their studies, or are living a poverty life before, well this is all because of their skills
and abilities to confront with every obstacles life throws at them.
In every catastrophic event, problems, challenges, trials and devastating situations,
Filipinos are still strong. The good thing about having some downs, Philippines inhabitants
learned to become tactful and being resourceful and those we can easily adopt and adjust on
what is happening around.
Though they do not have much in life, yet they manage to survive. They use their
creativity and skill. In which country have you seen that during the storm and floods one person
made use of the coffin turned into a boat in order to cross the road full of water? - Filipinos
make use of their resources in any way they can. Thats how skillful we, Filipinos are.
Despite of the devastating events that we have faced and are facing, we are still rational
and skillful enough to look for any solutions either it is for a long term of short term plan.
Because of those events, every individuals survival instinct become active, we become skillful
and resourceful. That is one of Filipinos characteristics that we should be proud of. We are able
to survive in accordance to the system of uniformity, we are able to produce a valuable thing
out of nothing, we are able to feed our siblings despite of scarce resources, and we are able to
smile even though we are on the verge of crying. Thats how Filipino is.

Filipina women are known worldwide for their stunning beauty inside and out. Many
beautiful Filipinas are considered as among the most beautiful women of the world because of
their uniqueness and exotic beauties.
One of the most obvious manifestations is through our beauty queens who have
dominated the international pageants through the years. But a Filipina doesnt have to wear a
crown to feel beautiful. Even the so-called average Filipina stands out because of her unique
disposition and traits.
Filipinas are not only beautiful outside but are also really genuine inside. Filipino women
shine because theyre quick to adapt to times. Theyre open-minded and flexible, especially
when it comes to their roles in and out of the house. But despite being modern, Filipino women
dont let go of their traditional values altogether.
The Filipina knows that she can be attractive not just for others, but also for herself.
Filipino women are seen as already more "empowered" compared to their neighbors in the
region. Filipinas are vocal when it comes to their rights in society. Our women are admired all
over the world for their courage, steadfastness, and passion for pursuing change. Whether its
the right to have choices, or the right to love, Filipino women know how to argue for their case.
Most importantly, they win it.
In the face of disasters, scandals, or any other dilemmas, Filipinas have proven to be
creative, optimistic, and determined. But they also know that being tough doesnt mean acting
tough. Filipinas know how to get what they want. They exude grace under pressure. Theyre
not hesitant to use their charm, and show that confidence is their greatest, most irresistible
weapon.
Theres no denying that feeling beautiful creates a positive effect on how women feel
about themselves. Why else do we pick our best suit and heels for a job interview? Many
women can also attest to the power of lipstick as a pick-me-up during drab days. With a simple
hair flip, she exudes confidence and grace.
The Filipino woman goes beyond beautiful because of one simple truth: she knows that
looking good inside is as important as looking good outside. And she knows that she can have it
all.

The Filipino is by native patient because he is loving. This is the kind of virtue that gets
beneath the surface of a Filipino which form part of his true identity. Patience is a source of
strength and a sign of challenge that can only be understood by those who have reached a
reasonable level of maturity.
The Filipino values of "pagtitiis" is properly directed can lead to the positive
"paninindigan". A true Filipino will not indulge himself in instant excitement if it will mean not
facing up his responsibility. Patience that knows the meaning of reasonable postponement of
desire and that is ready to face the challenge of responsibility will realize a great fulfillment of
love. Patience as a positive value understands the meaning and demands of true love.
Patience removes the feeling of jealousy, that powerful feeling, special kind of anxiety,
the trip switch of the worst of all anti-personal devices, human rage.
Patience is the value which always urge the Filipino to take another step in relationship
with others. It impels the Filipino to reach out for the sake of other persons even when the price
of doing this may be pain and suffering for himself.
Patience touches friends, husbands, wives and the whole loving Filipino families and asks
that they transform their love from something exclusive to something inclusive.
Because of the value of being patient, the Filipino can follow Christ's mandate of loving
our enemies. Filipinos show some courtesy and hospitality, as part of their ways as long as the
enemies won't really turn them off. This is not easy because once the Filipinos are hurt, they are
liable to keep their guard up for a while. Patience demands that we make ourselves open to
getting hurt all over again.
