CREC and Modern Teacher Partner to Offer Connecticut School
Districts a Platform for Teaching and Learning in the Digital World
CREC has a new partnerModern Teacher, an educational technology company that provides research-based methodology for digital convergence in education. In todays highly digitized world, we believe Americas schools need support in transitioning traditional classrooms into modern learning environments, said Modern Teacher President Shawn K. Smith. CREC is an educational service center that is well positioned to support the critical work of K-12 digital convergence. We believe that the partnership between Modern Teacher and CREC will result in an innovative, 21st Century collaboration that can bring the necessary tools and resources to school systems across New England and the United States. While many districts have purchased the latest devices and software, CREC and Modern Teacher know that few have mastered the ability to integrate these tools to transform teaching, learning, and student outcomes. Modern Teacher uses a three-pronged approach to empower districts. This approach includes providing: Strategy and leadership through a digital convergence framework for district leaders Professional learning through teacher training on instructional design in a blended environment Lesson engine through a cloud-based design and delivery application for teachers and students
