Kurt Daudt sends my friends letters warning them about a radical DFL Senate majority.
I'll have to ask my state senator Lyle Koenen, DFL-Clara City, if he knows just what the heck the Speaker from Crown means by that.

House Republican Campaign Committee Kurt Daudt, Speaker of the House
November 27, 2015
I'm proud of the reputation that the House Republican majority has built: We hold the
line. We hold the line for conservative principles. We hold the line for Minnesota
tay
We don’t get bulldozed by liberal Governor Mark Dayton or a radical DFL Senate
majority. Remember when the DFL had control of both houses of the Legislature in 2013 and
2014? Along with Mark Dayton, they were able to ram through the most massive spending
increase in our state's history.
But, in 2015 it was a different story. We had a Republican House majority. That meant
‘we stopped the biggest gas tax hike in Minnesota history. It also meant we stopped Governor
Dayton and his allies in St. Paul from spending a nearly $2 billion surplus. Rest assured, without
us defending your pocketbook, they would have almost certainly squandered every last penny.
And, we froze the Governor's outlandish pay raises for his hand-picked commissioners
and we eliminated $30 million for the Southwest Line Light Rail boondoggle.
‘The Governor vetoed the budget three times before finally signing a deal. He demanded
a fully loaded Cadillac and he walked away with a stripped down Chevy.
‘The House GOP majority believes that government spending needs to be stopped in its
tracks and then, yes, dramatically reduced. Hard-working Minnesotans are struggling to make ends
meet. And, House Republicans are going to hold the line to help them out.
But, we need the help of loyal Republicans like you to do just that
‘We accomplished a lot with our majority in the House. But, the Democrats and their big
union pals are not going to just sit back and let us keep the majority. And, with all 134 State
House seats on the ballot in 2016, they’re going to spend whatever it takes to try and send us
back to minority status.
4 Will you help us hold the majority? Will you help us keep the Democrats from
ruling all of state government again?
With the end of the year rapidly approaching, can we count on you to join our team
and help advance the HRCC’s conservative agenda in Saint Paul with a generous
contribution by December 31 of $25, $35, $50, $100, $250, $500 or more today?
525 Park Street, Suite 245 | St. Paul, MN $5103 | (651) 2258586 | MNHRCC.com =‘When I became the head of the House GOP Caucus, | vowed to do things differently.
We're leading both assertively and smartly on policy, advancing conservative principles
such as protecting the unborn and Second Amendment rights to promoting tax cuts and
eliminating bureaucratic red tape so businesses can thrive and expand,
But, we're also more aggressive on the campaign trail. We kept a political team in the
field this year to reach out to swing voters and give us a head start on the 2016 election cycle.
‘And, just as we watch every taxpayer dollar in the state budget, we work to be good
stewards of every dollar that you generously contribute to the HRC, too.
We know you work hard for the money you earn and we respect the fact that you've
chosen to invest some of it in our work. We'll squeeze everything we ean out of every penny.
Make no mistake about it. Governor Dayton does not like having to deal with a GOP
majority in the House. He wants to go back to the free-wheeling days of one-party rule ~ the
days when he could easily push through the biggest spending spree in Minnesota history
We can’t go back,
It will cripple our economy.
Help us hold our majority — and even expand it, Help us hold the line for Minnesota
taxpayers, Help us stop the gas tax hikes and the spending splurges and the light rail waste.
Help us achieve real tax relief for all taxpaying Minnesotans.
‘Your generous year-end contribution of $25, $35, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or even
more today will help us do just that.
‘The election is less than one year away. Please act today. Thank you!
Sincerely,
EA Dsved™
Kurt Daudt
Speaker of the House
