OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

To gain an understanding of the training system in the organization and to suggest


measures of improvement wherever necessary as well.

The other objective is to gain knowledge of training practices in the company and to
analyze the consideration of employees need while determining the training
requirements.

To get familiarize with the working condition prevailing in various PSUs.

Research Methodology:
For the above-mentioned objective, a detailed study of the training process at various PSUs was
carried out, along with practically working on the same. In the study, the various methods for
identifying the training requirement of individual employees were studied and analyzed to
identify their strengths and weaknesses. The areas were identified which needed improvement
and recommendations were made for the same.
Descriptive research was undertaken for the above mentioned study.
DATA COLLECTION
PRIMARY DATA:
The Primary Data that I collected were the first hand information which I received through
questionnaire filled by various respondents. This data gave the most vital information for making
my analysis of the Training process at various PSUs of Delhi NCR.
SECONDARY DATA:
Secondary Data involved in my research was collected by various websites and reference was
also made to some books.

DEVELOPING THE RESEARCH PLAN:


The development of research plan has the following steps:DATA SOURCE:
The source of the data was primary data only. Primary Data defined as the data which is
collected for the first time. It is new in nature. His type of data is collected directly from the
source of information. The techniques, which were involved in collecting the primary data was
questionnaire filling.
RESEARCH APPROACH:
Surveys are best suited for descriptive research. Surveys was undertaken to analyze the training
process at various PSUs of Delhi NCR.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT:
Questionnaire was used for survey had both closed-ended and open-ended questions. A
questionnaire consisting of a set of question was presented to employees at various levels.
SAMPLING PLAN:

The sampling plan calls for three decisions:


SAMPLING UNIT:
Sampling unit is who is to be surveyed? The target population must be defined thats to be
sampled it is necessary so as to develop sampling frames so that everyone in the target
population has an equal chance of being sampled.
To analyze the training needs of employees working in various PSUs of Delhi NCR., a
questionnaire was prepared and primary information was collected.

SAMPLE SIZE:
Sample size is how many people have to be surveyed? Generally, large samples give more results
than the smaller samples. The sample refers to the number of respondents from the universe. The
sample size of this research was 100.
CONTACT METHOD:
Once the sampling plan has determined, the question was how the subject should be contacted,
i.e. by telephone, mail or personal interviews.

But the single way which I used to contact the subject was personal interviews with the
help of Questionnaires.
DATA ANALYSIS:
Data analysis has been done by using Microsoft Excel.
