1 Vessel Delivery to CONTRACTOR


ThevesselwillbedeliveredtoCONTRACTOR,safelyafloateitheralongsideCONTRACTOR'squaysideorwithin
CONTRACTOR'sdrydock.

ThevesselshallbeconsideredreadyfortheWORKwhenitisofftheCONTRACTORSShipyardreadytobesecured
atthewharfbetweenthehoursof06.00and18.00.

2 Vessel Redelivery to COMPANY


ThevesselwillbeacceptedafloatbyCOMPANYwhenCOMPANYissatisfiedthatcompletionofallWORKand
removalofalltoolsandappliances,dirt,debrisandoldmaterialshasbeenachieved.

3 Responsibility
FromthetimethevesselisdeliveredtotheCONTRACTORanduntilthevesselisredeliveredtotheCOMPANY,upon
satisfactorycompletionoftheWORK,thevesselshallbetheresponsibilityoftheCONTRACTORtocomplywithall
Specifications,requirements,regulationsandLawsofGovernmentsconcerned,allapplicableregulatoryand
Classificationbodiesthatapplytoallrepairs,renewals,alterations,useoffire,burning,welding,rivetingandother
suchmethodsusedtocarryingoutsuchwork,whetherornotspecificallystatedintheDryDockItem
SpecificationsoftheCOMPANY.

DuringthetimethevesselisintheCONTRACTORSShipyardandundertheCONTRACTORstime,thevesselshall
betheresponsibilityoftheCONTRACTOR.Withoutlimiting,bytheprovisionshereof,anyliabilityofthe
CONTRACTOR,astoamount,howsoeverarising,itisunderstoodthatfromthedeliveryofthevesselto
CONTRACTORuntilredeliverytotheCOMPANYaftersatisfactorilycompletingtheWORKorwhiletheWORK
hereunderisbeingperformed,theCONTRACTORshallberesponsiblefor,andmakegood,attheCONTRACTORS
expenseanyandalllosses,incidents,injuriesand/ordamageofanynaturetothevesseland/orthevessels
equipmentand/oritscargoand/oritsmoveablestores,occurringthroughanyactordefaultorneglectofthe
CONTRACTORand/oranyoftheCONTRACTORSAgentsoremployeeswhichbytheexerciseofreasonablecare
shouldhavebeenprevented.

4 COMPANY SUPPLY
AllpriceswithinAppendix5willbeassumedtoincludeinthequotedcostsforeachItemallnecessaryservicesin
connectionwithperformingthespecifiedworkincludingcleaning,removalsandrefitting,supplyofanymaterialsand
consumablesrequired,stagingforaccess,ventilationandalllabour,plantandequipmentunlessspecificallyexcluded
byCONTRACTOR,orpricedelsewhere.

Inthiscontextitshouldbeunderstoodthatalllubricants,manufacturersspareparts,paintcoatings,requiredthinners
andanodesareCOMPANYsupply,unlessspecifiedotherwisewithintheScopeofServices.

5 ACCESS AND REMOVAL OF WASTE MATERIALS


5.1Gangways

Adequategangway(s)tobeprovidedforaccessfromdocktoptovesselandmaintainedingoodorderfortheduration
oftherepairworks.Additionalaccessgangwaystospecificworksitesifrequiredaretobeincludedin
CONTRACTOR'spricing.

5.2Removalofwastematter,Scrapetc
Allrepairworkwastematter,scrap,etcistoberemovedashoredaily.FurthermoreCONTRACTORtoensurethatall
decksandworksiteswithinitscontrolaremaintainedinasafeandtidycondition.

6 WELDING AND HOTWORK/FIREWATCH


6.1Workmanship,WeldingandMaterials

Allworkmanship,materialsandconsumablesaresubjecttotheapprovaloftherelevantclassificationsocietyand
appropriatecertificationistobefurnishedoncompletionofdocking.

6.2Welding
Allweldingistobeperformedtothesatisfactionoftheattendingclassificationsocietysurveyorandinaccordance
withrelevantclassrules.
Allpipeworkwherepossibleistohaveinternalandexternalfullyweldedseams,andmustbepressuretestedand
witnessedbycompanyrepresentativepriortofitment.

6.3EarthConditions
Earthconnectionsshouldbesecuredtothehullandremovedoncompletionofallworksinanapprovedmanner.All
weldingoncranesandwithinThrustertunnels,etc.,istobecarriedoutwithextremecareafterensuringthatan
adequatereturnpathexists.

6.4ProvisionofFireMainsupply
TheShorewatermainistobeconnectedtothevessel'sfiremainassoonaspossibleafterenteringdockandwater
underadequatepressure(7bar)istobeavailableonship'sfiremainatalltimesthroughoutdrydockingperiod.

6.5FireWatch

FirewatchistobeprovidedbyCONTRACTORforallhotworkandincludedwithinpricingforeachjob.Asan
alternativetheCONTRACTORmayprovidefirewatchonapermanhourbasis,inthiscasetheCONTRACTORshall
providetimesheetsforhoursincurredinperformanceofthisdutynolaterthan3daysafterthecosthavebeen
incurred.FailuretodosowillbeconsideredaNonConformanceagainstthetermsandconditionsoftheagreement
andmayresultincostsbeingdisputed.

6.6BurningEquipment
BurningequipmentandhosesaretobesubjecttoinspectionbyCONTRACTORpriortofirstuseandonaperday
basiswhilstinstalledonthevessel.Allsuchequipmentmustberemovedfromenclosedcompartments,tanks,
columns,etcwhentheoperatorleavestheworksite.Itisnotacceptablethatsuchequipmentisleftuntenderedatany
timeunlessriskassessedandagreementgainedwithCOMPANYsrepresentative.

6.7CleaningforHotwork
Whilsteveryendeavourwillbemadetoarrivewiththespacesspecifiedforhotworkinafitconditionforsame.
CONTRACTORshallarrangewhateverservicesthatmayberequiredwithoutdelayfollowingpreliminaryinspectionof
workscopeshouldfurthercleaningorgasfreeingbefoundnecessary(atagreedrates).

7 PROTECTION OF EQUIPMENT
7.1ProtectionfromGritandWaterBlasting

MachineryspacesincludingThrusterlocations,divingandpipelayequipment,etcoraccessopeningscutinshellfor
repairsaretobeadequatelyprotectedagainstwaterandblastinggritingressbeforecommencementofsuchwork.

CONTRACTORtoconfirmthatadequateofpreventativemeasuresaretakenwithvessel'sChiefEngineerpriorto
startingwork.FurtherrepairsrequiredduetoCONTRACTOR'snegligenceforanydamagesocausedwillbeto
CONTRACTOR'saccount.

ProtectionformingressthroughfixedopeningsistheresponsibilityoftheCOMPANY.Beforecommencementof
blastingoperationsCONTRACTORistogetassurancefromCOMPANYrepresentativethatsuchprotectionisin
place.ShouldtheCONTRACTORcommenceblastingoperationsbeforethisassuranceisgiven,thedamagedso
causedshallbetoCONTRACTORsaccount.

8 BLOCKS AND SHORING


8.1BlockLayout

BlocksaretobelaidoutinaccordancewithapprovedDockingPlanonly.Priortoflooding
CONTRACTORshalldemonstratetoCOMPANYrepresentativeaccuracyofDockBlocklayoutto
Plan.VesselshallnotenterdockuntilCONTRACTORhasreceivedconfirmationfromCOMPANY
representativeitissatisfactorytodoso.

8.2Block/VesselALIGNMENT

Particularattentionistobepaidduringdockingtoensurethevesselislandedcentrallyondockingblocksin
accordancewiththedockingplan.CONTRACTORistoassumefullresponsibilityforvesselfromfirstlineashoreat
thedockheaduntilvesselisredeliveredinanafloatconditionoutsidethedockgatesorelsewherebymutual
agreement.Duringdockingthevesselistobeshoredasnecessary.

8.3PlannedmovementofBlocks/Shores
Preparation/removal/repositioningofblocksandshoresforaccesstorepairsincludedwithinlumpsumquotationsare
tobeincludedwithinthequotedcostsforeachjob.

9 MARINE CREW AND SPECIALIST TECHNICIANS


9.1COMPANYThirdPartyspecialists

VesselcrewandCOMPANYandspecialistcontractorsshallperformmaintenanceactivitiestoequipmentduring
shipyardstay.CONTRACTORshallallowthiswithouthindranceandistoarrangeanyassistancerequestedbythe
COMPANYsuperintendent.Manufacturer'sserviceengineerswillbeengageddirectlybyCOMPANYatCOMPANYs
costasrequiredtoassisttheCONTRACTORunlessotherwiseagreed.

CONTRACTORshalladviseanyrequirementsitmayhaveinthisregard.CONTRACTORistocoordinatethe
activitiesofanysuchpersonnelrequestedwithintheoverallscopeoftherepairworksthatarebeingundertaken.
ThesecoordinationsshallbedemonstratedontheCONTRACTORprovidedplanningchart.

10 Craneage
Craneassistancetobesuppliedatquotedratestoship'screwattherequestofCOMPANYssuperintendentfor
loadinganystores,sparegearandmachineryparts.Ship'scraneswillbeusedifpractical.

10.1VesselCranes
Vesselcrewmembersonlyshalldrivethevessel'scranes.CONTRACTORshalladviselimitationsofanypermitted
craneoperations.

11 ACCEPTANCE of repair
11.1ByCOMPANYRepresentative

Allsystemsrepairedwillbesubjecttoacceptancetestingoncompletionofrepairsbyship'sstafftothesatisfactionof
COMPANYssuperintendentinadditiontoanyclassificationsocietyrequirements.

11.2ByClassificationSociety
Classificationsocietyrequirementswillformthenormalacceptancelevel.

12 SCRAP

12.1Ownership
Unlessotherwiseagreed,scrapmaterialsremovedfromthevessel'sorthevessel'sfittingsorequipmentshallremain
thepropertyofCOMPANY.

13 CONTRACTOR'S SUPPORT EQUIPMENT AND HUMAN


RESOURCES
Unlessspecificallystatedtothecontrarywithinthe"ScopeofWork"thefollowingshallbedeemedincludedinpricing:
Handtoolsincludingbutnotlimitedportablepipebending,grindingandliftinggear.
Welding,burningandrelatedequipmentandconsumables.
Heating,lightingandsecurityservices.
Shotblasting,coatingandpaintingequipmentandconsumables.
Housekeepingmaintenanceofdockareaadjacenttovessel.
OnshoretransportationotherthanspecialisttypetransportorCraneage.
Drydock/repairquayCraneage.
Oils,greases,lubricantsandcoolantsforcontractorplant.
Onshoremachineshopwork(otherthanspecifiedthirdpartyservices).
Gangwaysandothermeansofaccess.
Transportationofequipmentandspareparts.
NDTequipmentandconsumables.
EmployeesLiabilityandThirdPartyInsurance.
Employeesholidaysincludingstatutoryholidays.
Employeeslivingallowance.
Employeestravelpayments.
Employeesprotectiveclothingforallworksundertaken.
Employeesmedicalcover.
Employeessalary,premiumtimeandbonuspayments.
Access equipment including but not limited to scaffolding and mobile access towers. And, generally,
allmaterial,equipmentandlogisticsrequiredbyCONTRACTORtoperformtheWORK.

14 SHIPYARD USE OF tHIRD pARTY cONTRACTORS


CONTRACTORshalluseonlytheirapprovedThirdPartyContractorswhichhavebeenthrough
theirassuranceprocesses.CONTRACTORshalldemonstratetoCOMPANYassuranceprocess
onrequest.
WheresuitableapprovedThirdPartyContractorisnotavailableCONTRACTORshall
demonstratetoCOMPANYhowThirdPartyContractorwillbemanagedandwhere
responsibilitylieswithAssuranceofactivitiescarriedout.
CONTRACTORshallberesponsibleforallworkcarriedoutbytheirdesignatedThirdParty
Contractorsasiftheyweredirectemployees,thisshallincludeHoldHarmlesswithCOMPANY
anyissuesarisingfromincidentonCOMPANYvessel.
ExcludedareThirdPartyContractorsengageddirectlybyCOMPANY.

15 MISCELLANEOUS
CONTRACTORshallsupplythefollowinginformation:

15.1ShipyardSafetyPlan
Provide"ShipyardSafetyPlan"includingfireandaccidentproceduresinorderthatthevesselandshipyardSafety
requirementscanbeinterfaced,tobepresentedtothevessel'sMasteronarrival.

15.2PlanningChart
PrepareandfurnishtoCOMPANYsrepresentativeacomprehensivePlanningChartforallworkscontainedwithinthis
specification.TobepresentedtoCOMPANYrepresentativepriortothevesselarrivingatyourfacility.Actualprogress
andrevisedplanningistobechartedbyCONTRACTORonadailybasisandfurnishedtoCOMPANYrepresentative
daily.

15.3TariffRates
Supplytariffratesforthefollowingdisciplinesandminimumtimeallocations:Mechanicalfitter,Electricalfitter,Painter
/cleaner,Welder,Platter,Firewatchman,Nightwatchman.

15.4Shiftrota
Confirmshiftrota:Normalworkinghours,Overtimehours,Numberofworkingshiftsdailybasis,Weekendworking.
Specifyifworkcanbeaffectedonacontinuous,uninterrupted24hourbasis.

15.5Holidays
Confirmifyardpersonnelareduetobeonholiday(Publicholiday)duringtheanticipateddrydockingandrepairperiod.

15.6Maintenance
Confirmthatvesselsstaffcanaffectroutinemaintenancethroughoutthedrydockingandrepairperiod.

16 STANDARD PRACTICES
ThefollowingcommonpracticesshallbeconsideredcompulsoryforinclusioninanyBID

16.1PipeworkFlangedconnections
WereWORKrequirestheconnectionofflangesnewCONTRACTORsuppliedfastenersandjointingaretobeused.
WhereJointsorGasketsareofpreformedorspecialistdesignthenCOMPANYmayoffertoprovidethesefreeofcost.

16.2Asbestos
Nomaterialsbeingfrom,orcontaininginpartAsbestosshallbeusedunlessnosuitablealternativeexists.Inthiscase
agreementistobesortfromCOMPANYrepresentative.CONTRACTORshallclearlylabeladjacenttothesiteof
installationawarninglabeltoreadinEnglishWARNING,Asbestos

SafetymanagementistobetheconcernofCONTRACTORandCOMPANY.Representativesfrombotharetoliaise
onafrequentbasis.CONTRACTORSHALLensurethattheyhavesufficientSafetyManagersattheworksite.
InspectionsaretobecarriedoutbyCONTRACTORSafetymanagerstocheckforsuchasbutnotrestrictedto

WhereVentilationisarequirementtosafelyandefficientlycompleteWORK,CONTRACTORshallincludecostinthe
BID.

16.12PowerSupplies(Electrical,Pneumatic,etc)
WherePowerSuppliesarearequirementtosafelyandefficientlycompleteWORK,CONTRACTORshallincludecost
intheBID.

17 Docking / Undocking
17.1SettingofDockBlocks

DockblocksaretobeofaCONTRACTORdeclaredheightinagreementwithCOMPANYrepresentative.Blocksareto
belaidoutasperCOMPANYprovideddockingplan.Priortodockingofvesselanddockblockinspectionistobe
carriedoutwithrepresentativesofCONTRACTORandCOMPANY.

17.2Flooding
CONTRACTORistoprovidesufficientpersonneltomonitorintegrityofbreachesofHullandseawatersystemsby
completionofWORKduringtheFLOODINGandtoattendtoanyingressofwater.Thiswillbeconsideredaspartof
thecompletionprocessforWORK.

Priortocommencementoffloodinganinspectionistobecarriedoutinthedockbottom.Representativesfrom
COMPANYandCONTRACTORaretobepresent.CONTRACTORcancommencefloodingwithagreementfrom

Floodingwillcontinueuntilaheightnogreaterthan2metersisreachedaboveHighSeaSuction.Atthispointa
thoroughinspectionistobecarriedoutbyCONTRACTORandCOMPANYemployees.

OnreportbackCONTRACTORcanrecommencefloodingtocompletionwithagreementofCONTRACTOR

17.3BALLASTING
COMPANYmaychosetointroduceballastfromDockingwaterduringfloodingprocess.Thiswillbebyagreementwith

Removalandreplacementoftyrefendersistobeincludedinthecostoftopsidecoatingmaintenanceandapplication

18.2.9ProtectionofOpeningandequipmentpriortoTopsidecoatingapplication
PriortocommencementofapplicationofTopsidecoatingallportholesaretobemasked,maskingtoberemovedon
completionofcoatingwork.Allowforprotectionofallmechanicalandelectricalequipmentpriortocommencement.

19 HULL AND STRUCTURE REPAIRS


19.1Reporting

ForanyworkdesignatedbyCOMPANYasrequiringinstallationreportsforpresentationtoClasstheCONTRACTOR
shallprovidewithinareasonableperiodoftime(tobetakenasnotgreaterthanonecalendarweek)following

19.2RepairSpecification
Duringdockbottominspectionshouldanysteelworkrepairsberequired,yourQAdepartmentistodrawuparepair
specificationinconsultationwiththeattendingDNVsurveyor,atthistimeyouaretoprovidecostsfortherepairwork.
Allsteelistobeshopprimed.

19.3Repairs
AretobecarriedoutinaccordancewithClassificationSocietyproceduresandshouldanyothersteelrenewalsbe
requiredthesearetobecarriedoutafterconfirmingextent.Allsteelistobeshopprimed.

20 Wooden Deck Sheathing


WhenrequiredbyWORK,woodendecksheathingistoberemovedwithaviewtoitsreplacement.Wherethisisnot
possible,andwithagreementoftheCOMPANYrepresentativetheCONTRACTORistoreplacedamagedsections
withequivalenttype.WhenliftedtheCONTRACTORistogetagreementwiththeCOMPANYrepresentativeforany

bearingassemblies.Priortotheuseofelectricarcweldingequipmentaroundthrustersyouaretoinformthe
COMPANYrepresentative,thisstatementcoversfortherenewalofhullanodesinwayoftunnelthrustersandanodes
aroundazimuthThrusterKortnozzles.
