saty way from evil deeds. We believe in this concept and applies it.
We at Blue Dawn Floral and Decor shop believes there is an opportunity to use
technology and customization to make it simple for students, teachers and other campus
area people to easily purchase fresh and variety of flowers and decoration arrangements,
with delivery on days they determine in advance.

We believe this business plan lays the foundations for our future business on solid
ground. This document summarizes the research, brainstorming and creative planning we
have done as a cohesive and creative group. We are launching in early-November and by
that we will have our operations up and running. At this point our marketing material is
under development and necessary online deals have been secured.

Introduction

This course shows the overall picture of Entrepreneurship and its connectivity with global
world. This report discusses about steps of business plan for gaining market share and
profit .
1.1 Origin of the Report
This report is prepared for Saira Banu, Assistant Professor, Department of Management,
course teacher of Management of Small and Medium Enterprises, Course code
MGT-306, Faculty of Business Studies at University of Dhaka as a partial requirement of
the course. The report is about Business plan of Flower and Decor shop in University
of Dhaka Campus. This report is prepared during the 3rd Year, 2nd semester and would
be submitted in the same semester. The standard procedure for the long, formal report is
followed here as part of the instruction of the course instructor.

1.2 Objectives of the Report


The primary objective of the report is to fulfill the partial requirement of the course.
The secondary objectives of this report are:
To study current picture of flower shops business in Campus areas
To show the impact of new floral and decoration shop in campus area
To analyze market in the business and financial risk feasibility
To know the operations and management of flower shop
To learn strategies of pricing and profit gaining in flower business of Dhaka
.
1.3 Methodology
We have use both primary and secondary data in our report. At first, we studied the
business plan format and then conducted field survey of retail shops of Shahbag areas.
We also conducted online survey and studied business plan of other flower and
decoration shops. Then we also use internet .We prepared this report using Microsoft
Word and used Microsoft Excel for some calculation.
1.4 Limitation
1) Lack of previous experience of doing business plan
2) Lack of participation of some employees of flower shops and other people in field and
online surveys

2.1Mission Statement
The mission statement is Fast Friendly Flowers. We will strive to make our customers
experience the best, friendliest and most efficient service in the area. With Fast Friendly
Flowers as our mission statement, we hope that customers will come back to us with
their flower needs. We will use technology to identify and serve an ideal target audience
within Dhaka Division. The business will use sophisticated marketing techniques to
secure a core clientele of upper-class and upper middle class, and will differentiate from
other traditional retail and on-line florists by offering Frequent Flower Gift Programs
with personalized service (e.g., customers can select the specific delivery dates)
and custom floral designs (e.g., customers can specify flowers, colors, scents, etc.).Blue
Dawn is dedicated to operating with a constant enthusiasm for learning,
being open to implementing new ideas, and maintaining a willingness to adapt
to evolving market conditions
2.2Background and nature of business
Blue Dawns legal form of business is a registered generalpartnership. A written contract
is made by us.The five partners Shemanth Mitra, Md.MoshiurAlam, Sandipan Biswas,
Badhan Mustary and Sabina Akhter will have equal control of the business. Along with
all five partners having equal control, they will also split anyprofits made equally five
ways. We plan to sell our flowers as a retailer. The flowers, chocolates and decoration
accessories we sell will be bought wholesale from online wholesale company. We will put
the arrangements together according to our customers request. Customers can pick out
arrangements on our business facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Blue Dawn. This
will make doing business with us convenient.
2.3Location
Our business is located in Nilkhet Road, a prime and densely populated location for any
type of business. Blue Dawns registered shop address is Shop no-7, Arts Faculty, Dhaka
university, Dhaka-1000. The registered office address is
Gausul Azam Super Market, 304 Nilkhet Rd, Dhaka 1205. The space is the perfect size
for the amount of room we will need at a design of 200 square feet

2.4Store Design
The exterior of a florist shop is estimated to account for the attraction of 35% of all
customers. While short term the business will not have a large amount of retail sales.Blue
Dawn will still create an inviting storefront in its Truck shop, one designed to be
distinctive and inviting, including:

Very simple, modern design with attractive displays

Spacious interior design with lots of light and accent lighting to illuminate flower
designs

Unobstructed windows to showcase flower arrangement

High visibility from the street, as well as visually pleasing at night

A variety of pre-designed floral arrangements.

2.4 Store Operation


Blue Dawn will be open for operation Friday - Wednesday, and closed on Thursday and
major holidays. Hours of operation will be 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Friday-Wednesday,
and from noon - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hours may be extended during the holidays.
Our partner Sabina Akhter, who has more than 2 years of experience in corporate
marketing and has trained as a florist, will create floral arrangements and run the business
(manage operations, inventories, marketing and sales). She will engage the services of a
part-time delivery person, and, for certain floral-intensive holidays, may employ
temporary staffing.
2.5 Store Policies
The business will use facebook page and simple survey about customers experience to

track sales and collect customer information, including names, address, e-mail address
and other pertinent information (pets, flower likes/dislikes, color preferences, allergies,
birthday, anniversary). This information will be used with e-mail and direct mail efforts
to build custom marketing programs establish customer loyalty and drive revenue. The
company will offer a 24-hour return/exchange policy to build trust with customers and to
maintain retention and loyalty.

2.6The Team
Blue Dawn is owned by five partners, who provides quality floral products and
superior customer service. Sabina Akhter makes all of the management decisions for the
company. For the first year of operations, there will be three full time employees each
with salary of 6000taka. One of them will drive the Truck shop; other s will sell, design
and assemble the flower arrangements. Besides the owner, the position that will be filled
will require the employee to have experience in floral design and background experience
in retail or who has worked in floral and decoration shops. Both employees will operate
the cash register system, greet customers, monitor the store, and make deliveries. Also,
the owner will hire additional part-time employees
and pay them an hourly wage of 100taka to help when calendar holidays and contracts for
weddings arise. The employee may take vacation and sick days, but they are unpaid.
The owners will formulate an interview process for potential employees. In addition, Day
The owner controls what floral products and supplies the business will purchase.
However, the other employee has some empowerment because the owner allows the
employee to order products from suppliers. This enables the owner to spend more time on
orders and provide the employee with more tasks and responsibilities. Raises will be
given on a yearly basis depending on how profitable the florist was that specific year.
