NINER-OPOLY
2-8 Players

DIRECTIONS

- To begin the game one must chose a banker. Turns will go clockwise from
the banker. Each round a player will roll the die and perform whatever
action is required of them until they have gone bankrupt.

- Starting the game each player starts with $1000 given to you by the
banker. (Realistically in college they would start with nothing, but we are
being generous). Give each player one $500 bill, three $100 bills, two 50$
bills, three $20 bills, two $10 bills, and four $5 bills. When/If the bank runs
out of money you can make more using any scrap paper. NOTE: Each
time you pass go you are awarded $200. But you do not get $200
for passing at the start of the game.

- Around the board there are multiple places found within the Student Union,
you can purchase these places for the price listed on the board. Once you
pay the banker they will give you the corresponding card to your newly
purchased property. The card will tell you the sell back price and the price
that other players must play if they land on the spot. (There are no houses
or mansions in this game, college students cant afford to buy those)

- Taxes: Around the board there are taxes you must pay to UNCC. If you
land on this spot you must pay the amount listed on the spot to the bank.

- Chance and Niner Chest: Spots marked with a question mark or Niner
Chest are these. If you land on the space you draw the corresponding card
and must do whatever it says. It could benefit or harm you.

- Jail: Jail in this version is Crown Commons. There are two spots on the
board about this. There is one that is the actual jail room and one that if
you land on it go go straight to Crown which is jail because after you eat
there you are a prisoner to the nearest bathroom. You can get out of crown
commons if you have a get out of Crown free card, roll a 6, or pay bail of
$150 to the bank.

- To win this game you have to be the last player to go bankrupt. If you get
bored of playing, the player with the most assets wins.

Game Explained:
This game is based on the consumerism literacy and life as a UNCC student.
Within the Union there are many places for students to buy goods and
services. This demonstrated the business side of the Student Union. Part of
the purpose of the union is that students have a general area they can meet
to buy food, school necessities, and anything else they may need or want. I
decided the best way to show this literacy would be a game based on
Monopoly. In the game the properties are all the different places within the
union that give it its consumerism quality. The other things such as the texts
and chance cards are just dealing with the life of a college student, but some
do still tie into the union and the basics of literacy.
