Nera Element vieW Network Management System (NEW-NMS) is a very powerful PC-based
software tool enabling the effective management of all network elements.
NEW-NMS is actually two tools in one, cleverly
combining the flexibility of an element manager
with the functionality of a network manager in
one easy-to-use software package.

A variety of uses
Thanks to its graphical user interface and plug and
play philosophy, NEW-NMS has many uses. It can be
used as an element configuration manager, local
controller or a full range network manager.
Consequently, this one software package can
perform configuration, fault, performance and
security management.
NEW-NMS can be used as the user interface to all
Neras transmission products. It incorporates a function
called network auto-discovery, so it uses the
configuration data already contained in the various
network elements to automatically build its impression
of the network, thus saving an enormous amount of
configuration time.
NEW-NMSs network status display is continuously
updated, while its extensive database and help
facilities enable the user to analyse and report on
network events.

Powerful client/server
solution
The fully fledged NEW-NMS client/server solution delivers
full NMS functionality to desktops throughout the
enterprise. NEW-NMS can even act as a mediation
device to higher order management network systems.

It has a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)

interface allowing communication with management
platforms based on Internet standards.

data related to the performance of the network.
Security Management
