Logo
Description: This is a logo I made for an old boutique my mom used
to own when we lived in Alabama. I kept in mind the style of clothes
and items the store carried when I was designing this logo. I wanted
to keep it simple but also have personality to it.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I used Adobe Illustrator to design
these logos. I used the circle tool to create the outline. I then made a
smaller circle inside and used the rotation tool and duplicate control
to make the smaller circles go all the way around. I then deleted the
bigger circle to leave the small circles by themselves. I added the text
and oval for the small saying next to charm.
Message: The message is to advertise for the boutique and hopefully
attract the people who would be interested in shopping in the store.
Audience: The audience is anyone who would like to shop at the
southern boutique. The name of the shop itself gives a good description of what kind of style the store has, and I think the font I chose
also portrays that.
Top Thing Learned: I learned how to work Illustrator for the first
time. I also learned how to use the rotation tool and how to multiple
select features to add color, move, etc.
Color Scheme and Color Names: Tertiary Green/Yellow

Montage

Description: A montage with an inspirational quote with two

blended photos and the correct use of typography.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, Steps taken while designing): I
used Adobe InDesign to upload and edit the photos. I used the
magnetic lasso to cut the photo of Mick Jagger out and then applied a mask to blur the edges and to make the photo appear
slightly translucent. I added the text and then added an overlay to
give the letters a translucent look. For the word need I applied a
few more layers to make it lighter than the rest of the words.
Message: The message is directed towards everyone.
Audience: I thought the city lights would attract younger views
and the quote from Mick Jagger could also attract older audiences
as well.
Top Thing Learned: The top thing I learned was how to blend
two photos together and how to apply affects to the text that compliment the blending of the photos.
Filter / Colorization used and where it was applied: I selected
the city lights and added the sharpen feature to make the colors
more vibrant.
Color scheme and color names: Tertiary/Teal, Indigo, Violet,
Gold, Lime

Photography
For this project, I took pictures outside of my apartment because the trees around the building are
changing colors and it turned out really nice in the
pictures. I tried to take pictures of already vibrant
colors and use the building as a contrast. Composition 2 is a picture of my roommate and she really listened when I told her to look serious.
To edit the photos I used Adobe Photoshop using
the features Levels, Vibrance/Saturation, Selective
Color, and Sharpen. Before I edited the pictures, I
thought the colors were already bright but the vibrance/saturation feature really made the colors pop.
Also, the selective color feature made a bigger difference with making the colors richer than I originally
thought it would.

Photo Design

Description: This is a project showing my skills with Adobe Photoshop working with photography and photo editing.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles): I first decided
on a color scheme that I wanted or my project and went and took
photos that matched that theme. I edited the photo to enhance the
colors using the features levels, vibrance, selective color and sharpness. Then using the color scheme Orange Monochromatic, I added colors from the color wheel using the eyedropper tool to add put
them into the design. I used the oval shape and added layers on top
of that to incorporate the color and create a design that went well
with the pumpkin. I added three additional ovals with the color
swatches and put the color scheme beside that.
Message: I wanted to create a project that was fitting for the season
we are in. I wanted it to appeal to anyone who would be interested in
fall activities in the community.
Audience: The audience is anyone in the community who would be
interested in fall activities. The place Juniper Park West Bend is in
Bend, OR.
Top Thing Learned: I learned my way around Adobe Photoshop:
how to edit photos, add media to the image and how to add colors
from an outside image into the design.
Color scheme and color names: Orange Monochromatic

Stationery
Description: This is a stationary and business card that I
designed for the boutique Southern Charm.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I used Adobe Illustrator CC to design the logo, stationary and business card.
I used the circle of dots from the logo to create the watermark on the stationary background and applied the
transparent feature to make the dots fade more into the
background. I used the line tool to create the line separating the white space form the logo and company information. For the card, I used the color from the logo
to use for all of the card. I used the same dots to separate
the information.
Message: The message is to advertise the companys
name and information.
Audience: The audience is geared towards everyone.
Top Thing Learned: I learned how to create a box a certain size (for the card.)
Color scheme and color names: Monochromatic; green.

and information.

Adobe Illustrator to design the Student Services logo.

Web Page

Description: This is an HTML website using CSS to display

and describe the logo I designed.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I manipulated the code
to create a design that complimented the logo. I used Text
Wrangler to modify the code and w3schools.com for tips
and tricks on how to get the look I desired. I briefly sketched
out the design I had in mind and then tried to design that

park 5K fundraiser to raise money to renovate an old
park pavilion. I made up the website and event information.
Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles):
I used Microsoft Word with the features adding color boxes and adding gradient. I inserted the scanned
picture and used the remove background feature to
make it into a circle. I also used the symbol tool to
insert the little circles between the dates and time.
Message: The message is to promote the 5K fundraiser to renovate the old park pavilion for the public to
