characters in a story. We will be using the story and details from it to see how the
characters are the same and different.

New Information Comparing is when the characters have something the same. Contrasting
is when the characters are different from each other.
Checking for Understanding We will have Brad and Morgan stand in front of the class and
have the students compare and contrast them.
Modeling We will read the ant and the grasshopper together, which will be the story were
going to use to compare and contrast the characters.

give an example of either a comparison or contrast between the ant and the grasshopper.

compare and contrast the ant and grasshopper.

Practice Venn diagram paper to compare and contrast themselves to one of the characters
from the story.

character of their choice.

two of the bears from the story as a group.

use this a lot to see how different people are unique like we did with Brad and Morgan
earlier! You could also use it to pick your favorite snack, deciding if something you like may
be the same as something you eat a lot, so you may want to try something new! Im so proud
of all of you today. Keep being little literature warriors!
