I believe, I can add value to the goal driven projects set by Rolls Royce through
the engineering graduate development programme. Rolls royce have set the
vision to provide the finest, most technologically advanced power systems. I
have observed keen investment in R&D activities at university level to drive this
differentiated innovation. As an aspiring candidate for this program, I can deliver
by applying various knowledge and skills learned thus far through engineering
and postgraduate programs. It will also be exciting to apply the problem solving
skills and lateral thinking to product life cycle to improve/optimize.
In terms of activities,I perceive myself to be very fortunate to have come across
various opportunities during my MSc, PhD programs here at University of
Manchester.
I have been hugely involved in a Sports and volunteering program for last 3
years at University. This project entails to provide free sports and healthy
activities to all residents at University of Manchester halls. I manage and
coordinate the activities of this program with 2 other coordinators and ensure
smooth delivery of the program. The program requires meticulous planning
schedule, procurement, facility booking and coach qualification and monitoring.
Through these programs, I have learned to lead the program and make amends
in the project for smoother operations and continuously improving the standard
of services provided.

I am also key contributor in developing and managing the website for

Thermoelectric network, which is funded and supported by EPSRC. This is a 3
year project which helps to provide a platform to share information, provide
event details and contact points for members of academia and industry.

I am executive member of Resident Association as extension of my pastoral

representative job at University Hall of Residences. I have worked with fervor in
last academic term to increase the student participation in Control Carbon
Campaign that build on improving recycling and introducing energy efficient
systems.

I am also a member of technical groups like IOP, IOM3 and IET and do attend the
regular seminars hosted by them.
I also take regular part in University Squash Club.

Dissertation : Development and Optimization of machining parameters of bidirectional CFRP.

Brief Account : Bi-directional CFRP was developed using Handlayup and

Autoclave techniques. Delamination and roughness was studied as variables to
be minimized for various machining operations.#

Rolls Royce has a huge global impact with over 15000 engineers. The current
projects that I have come across are technologically challenging and require
dedicated individuals with out of the box approach that I hope to deliver for better
solutions. I wish to gain in-depth knowledge and insight in materials based projects
where I can use my acquired analytical and characterisation skills to improve the
lead time of the product cycle.
