Background:
NVIRON Training Centre is organizing the Two Days workshop on Solar
Photovoltaic (PV) based Power Generation Technologies. This Workshop aims to
provide a unique platform to forge new learning opportunities in design,
engineering, Installation, operation and maintenance of Solar PV Power Plants.
Course Objective:
The training program provides an Hands-on learning on engineering aspects of
Solar Photovoltaic Sector. It aims to provide practical knowledge to the participants
to make them operations-ready. As such, it covers an overview on Basics of Solar
PV, various components of an operational PV System (Design, Engineering,
Implementation, Maintenance etc..). The practical part of the program will involve
Solar Plant designing in both the formats of individual as well as group exercises
as mock-up cases.
Day-1:
Introduction to Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Technologies
[(Solar PV Cells & Modules and other Balance of Systems (BoS]
Different PV system configurations
[Stand Alone , Grid-connected, Hybrid systems]
Inverters for solar PV systems
[Salient features, Types, relative merits and usage]
Day-2:
Case study of 100kWp Solar Plant
(Design, Operation and maintenance issues)
Role of Instrumentation in Solar PV Power Plants:
(Day Star I-V Tracer, Testo 876 Thermal Imager, CR3000 Data logging system,
Pyranometer etc.,)
Selection of Solar PV System Components, Operation and
maintenance
Introduction to Design Simulation and Plant Modeling using PVsyst
Software, Live Demonstration of PVsyst for Energy Yield Assessment
Optional:
Challenge Areas related to Solar Photovoltaic's Power Generation for
Engineering Students/Faculty
Field visit to nearby solar power plant/facility
