SEEKING:

Children & Teens who are currently in Kindergarten through 12th grade

REQUIREMENTS:
Performers need to prepare a short song to sing no longer than 60 seconds.
Accompaniment tracks may be on an iPod, iPhone, or a CD. A keyboard is available for those who bring their own
accompanist. A capella is allowed. Younger children may choose to sing their favorite nursery rhyme.
Auditions will be a cold read from the script. A short dance will be taught.
PERFORMANCES:

February 18-21 and 25-28, 2016

With a classic fairy tale setting, loads of exciting and hilarious roles to play, a variety of entertaining musical numbers,
and a plot full of mystery and adventure, this show has it all! It begins in the Misty Forest, where a girl is sleeping all
alone. But when she wakes, nothing looks familiar to her. She cant remember anything not where shes from, how
she got here, or even her own name! She embarks on a journey to discover her identity and meets several fairy-tale
characters along the way Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Snow White and the
Seven Dwarves, Cinderella, and Rapunzel to name a few. Some are helpful, some are dangerous, and some are just
plain weird, but all have information to help our young girl eventually realize her true identity as a princess. As with any
good fairy tale, theres also a prince! Hes desperate to find the princess, but he is always one step behind and
inadvertently rescues and wins the hearts of all the wrong princesses! A rocking musical score adds even more fun to
new takes on the stories everyone loves.

*HANSEL over-confident guy who lands himself and his sister, Gretel, in trouble; loves to eat
*PRINCESS girl who has lost her memory and cant even recall her own name
*RUMPELSTILTSKIN weird and proud little man; has a split personality and talks to himself;
FOREST WITCH grumpy imprisoner of children
*PRINCE REVEILLE heroic, future king; from Far Far Away
*GOLDILOCKS tough girl with very specific tastes; mostly independent; nemesis of the Three Bears

*SNOW WHITE princess from the West, but insists its more Southwest; rough & tough and talks with a twang
QUEEN OF THE WEST a.k.a. the Wicked Witch of the West; Snow Whites vain stepmother
*GIDDY a dwarf who is smiley, optimistic and super-pleased with everything
*NOSY curious dwarf who questions authority and is just plain nosy
*ROWDY a dwarf who is easily excited and a loud & fast talker
WHINY a dwarf; the complainer who just cant cope with anything
*HIPPIE a dwarf who is laid back and earthy, the peacemaker who remains cool under pressure
GUILTY a dwarf who readily accepts blame; Even if it wasnt his/her fault, Guilty will still take the fall
*FLIGHTY dwarf who is a complete space cadet; a bit distracted and very interested in shiny things
*BEAR regular-sized bear and angry victim of a repeat trespasser
*BIG BEAR biggest of the three bears and angry victim of a repeat trespasser
*TINY BEAR smallest, but scariest of the three bears and angry victim of a repeat trespasser
*FAIRY GODMOTHER wise, magical matriarch of the Misty Forest
*CINDERELLA young maiden who loves to dance and enjoys a good party
*RAPUNZEL princess who is locked in a tall tower; has difficulty hearing; shouts every word she speaks
*PRINCE HERCULES Snow Whites strong, muscular prince; comfortable in battle; poses every chance he gets
QUEEN OF THE NORTH daughter of a deceitful miller; desperately trying not to lose her newborn daughter
HERALD servant of the Northern Kingdom
STEWARD servant of the Northern Kingdom
NURSE servant of the Northern Kingdom
QUEEN OF THE SOUTH worried mother
KING OF THE SOUTH worried father
*GOOD FAIRY 1 bestows the gift of beauty

Performance Reservations
Reservations are always highly encouraged.
Reservations are placed by going to our website at
www.blackrosetheatre.org and clicking on reservation information in the right-hand sidebar
(brtreservations@gmail.com) or by calling the (unmanned) theatre box office at 601-825-1293.
Reservations, even for season ticket holders, are always recommended due to limited, general seating.
Reservations which have not been claimed 10 minutes before curtain time are subject to forfeit, including
those of season ticket holders. We accept checks or cash only at this time.
When making reservations, please leave a message or send an e-mail that includes your name,
phone number, the day and date of the show you are requesting and how many tickets you
need. Your call will only be returned if your request can NOT be accommodated. E-mail requests
do receive a confirmation e-mail reply when the reservation is processed. Reservations are checked
up until approximately 2 hours before (i.e., 5:00 p.m. or noon) the day of performance.
Ticket prices are:
$15 for adults $10 for seniors (55 and older), military, children, and students
(everyone must have a ticket)
