Key Capabilities

Protection
Command is not one of flying aircraft but
the delivery of surveillance data.
The SIM is used to control the mission
sensors and communications systems, such
as radar electro-optics and satellite
communications.
Through these interfaces, the SIM is able to control the employment of the various
systems and to capture, correlate, record and communicate all elements of
surveillance data relevant to contact or event and to provide an evidentiary-quality
mission record for use in prosecution.
The SIM uses satellite communication systems to share these data in real time with
the Ground Station and other aircraft enabling better decision making and
coordination both on board the aircraft and on ground.
