SQL Installation

Installation of SQL Express 2005

Click on the installation setup file

Click on the checkbox to accept the terms

and conditions

Click on Next

Few mins will be taken to

configure the required
components and installing the
same.

Installation wizard will appear as

shown

System configuration check will run and

install all the required components

Space requirements prerequisites

check will be calculated

Enter name of the person to who the

software has to be registered. And
provide the company
name in the highlighted areas. Then
click next.

Click next to proceed

Select mixed mode authentication.

Enter Password and Confirmed Password
in the highlighted areas
Click next.

Click install to proceed

Click next to proceed

Installation wizard installs all required

components

Click on next and finish button in the

next tab to complete installation
process

Introduction:
This document contains installation guidelines for VinPlus.

Abbreviations/Acronyms Used:
DB Database
API Application Programming Interface

Minimum System Requirements:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent
RAM: 1 GB (2GB recommended)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Server / 2000 / XP / 7 32-bit (with latest
Service Pack)
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (2.0.50727.42)
Microsoft Excel 2003
Microsoft SQL Server Express / 2005

Assumptions:
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server Express is installed.

Installation Procedure:
Double click the setup file (with file extension .msi) to start installation. A
window will appear as below.

Click Next to proceed

Read the End-User License Agreement

and accept the terms in the License
Agreement to proceed installation.

Now click next and click on

Install to install the application.

Progress window shows the status of installation

Once installation of VinPlus is complete,

following window will appear

Fill in the User ID, Password and Data Source as shown. If a new VinPlus database is
to be created, then select Create New DB and select Database File location using the
Browse button. Click Start.
If a VinPlus database is already present at the selected location, a message box will be
displayed as shown. Click OK.
The database file will be stored at selected database location and a new VinPlus database
will be created in selected Data Source as shown.

If an existing VinPlus database needs to be

updated, select Update Existing DB. Click OK
on the pop-up message box. Click Start button.
Click OK. The existing VinPlus database will be
updated without deleting existing data.

If an existing VinPlus database needs to be

updated, select Update Existing DB. Click
OK on the pop-up message box. Click Start
button. Click OK. The existing VinPlus
database will be updated without deleting
existing data.

Note: Update Existing DB option is applicable only VinPlus versions released after
Version 1.0 Release 12. For VinPlus Version 1.0 Release 12and below, please select
Create New DB.

Note:
Select Data Source as (local) if SQL Server Standard/Enterprise editions are installed. Select
.\SQLExpress as Data Source only if SQL Server Express edition is installed.
SQL Server needs full access to the selected database path. The database file should have
administrative rights and it should not be shared, compressed or password protected.

Click Finish to complete the installation.

HDD File Creation Procedure:

After installing VinPlus setup on the PC/ Laptop VinPlus
folder directory will be created in the path C:\Program
Files\LnT\Vinplus [or C:\VinPlus Setup\VinPlus]

Browse VinPlus folder and search for HDDno.exe file

Double click on this HDDNo.exe file and

browse the destination path to save the
generated HDD no.

After giving your desktop path for saving the file a folder will be created with the
same HDDNo inside which there will be a HDDNo.txt file.
Please send that text file to us for issuing the license key.

Troubleshooting methods:
First and for most check whether the current user login has
sufficient privileges to do the installation. If no permissions given to
the current user, login as administrator and allow permission.
Check whether user control setting is set to never notify. This is
available in control panel.
After installation if you are facing Unknown error has been
logged after updating the license key install VinPlus setup outside
program files by creating a new folder with any name.

If you are facing HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE access denied

when you update the license key, do the attached steps
Go To windows start button and type "regedit" [Before
starting this process kindly check with
"User Accounts Control Settings" to never notify block]
after selecting the
folder to the right screen right click with the help of
mouse and select "Permissions".
Provide permission to the HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE folder
as shown below:

Click on permissions and select Everyone and give full control:

Click on apply and ok. Now restart the PC and update license key.
