DRAWING OF CONDUCTORS :
Air through the conduits : The drawing and jointing of copper
conductor of wires shall be executed with due regard to the
following precautions. While drawing insulated wires into the
conduits, care shall be taken to avoid scratches and kinds
which may cause breakage of conductors. There shall be no
sharp bends.
Insulation shall be shaved off for a length off 15mm at the end
of wire like sharpening of a pencil and it shall not be removed
by cutting it square edge.
PVC insulated copper conductor core ends before connection
shall be properly soldered (at least 15mm length) with soldering
flux / copper solder for connecting to the terminals. All strands
of wires shall be soldered at the end before connection. The
looped joints shall be just adequate, neither too much not too
less. Conductors having nominal cross section area exceeding 4
Sq.mm shall always be provided with crimping type cable
socket. At all bolted terminals, brass flat washer of large area
and approved steel spring washers shall be used. Brass nuts
and bolts shall be used for all connections.
Only certified wire man and cable jointers shall be employed to
do joining work. For all internal wiring PVC insulated wires of
650/100 V grade shall be used. The sub circuit wiring for point
shall be carried out in looping system and no joint shall be
drawn in any conduit, until all work of any nature that may
cause injury to wire is completed. Care shall be taken in
pulling the wires. Before the wires are down into the conduits
the conduits shall be thoroughly cleaned of moisture, dust and
dirt or any other obstruction by forcing compressed.
10.0 JOINTS :
The wiring shall be looping back system and hence all joints
shall be made at main switches distribution boxes only. No
joints shall be made inside conduits and junction boxes.
Conductors shall be continuous form outlet to outlet. Joints
where unavoidable, due to any specified reasons, prior
