Firefox 42 has been released for systems and Android on Nov 03, 2015 with
various bug xes and updates. Below is the list of few changes which is made
in this release of refox. Read more details about this release of Firefox.
This article will help you to install Firefox 42 on CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu,
Debian, CloudLinux Linux and other Linux operating systems. This article will
use Firefox 42 compiled code available for Linux systems, which doesnt
required any compilation etc. We need to just extract the archived le and start
using it.

Remove Existing Versions

First remove any existing version of Firefox from your system if installed using
rpm. Red Hat based system use following command.

# yum remove firefox

[OR]
$ sudo apt-get remove firefox

Download the latest Firefox archive from here (32 bit) and here (64 bit). At the
time of last update of this article Firefox 42 is the latest version available.
Download Firefox 42 source code as per your system architecture using one of

following commands.

Congure Firefox
Firefox source is completely pre compiled and we dont have to do anything to
make it running on system. We just need to create a soft-link of Firefox binary
le to systems bin directory to make it accessible from anywhere in system.

# ln -s /usr/local/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/firefox

Now start Firefox using following command from Linux terminal. You may also
use GUI menus to start refox on your system.

# firefox &

You cant use Firefox in CLI mode. For CLI mode you may use elinks command.

Hi.. Rahul, in my linux (rhel 5.7 32bit i686 ) have alredy refox 3.0 but i need lastest version how
can i do please tell me i tried this article also but nothing new in my refox
i tried other rpm also but dependency problem can u please tell me steps please

Must install xulrunner 31 rst before you install refox 31, or wise the hwol thing
makefucntions

XPCOMGlueLoad error for le /usr/local/refox/libxul.so:
libgio-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object le: No such le or directory
Couldnt load XPCOM.

Say is this version compatible with a 2006 ACER 5003WLMi 64 bit Turion running 2008-4
Ubuntu Lucid Lynx? Or what should I try to get- wheres the stable FF repository that still

Will this installation destroy the current version of FF, if say you change it a little and write:
ln -s /usr/local/refox/refox /usr/bin/farefox

ln -s /usr/local/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/firefox

centos 6 64 bit update compatibility module ash and freshplayerplugin work enter command

sudo cp /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/* /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins

sudo rm -rf /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
sudo ln -s /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins sudo rm -rf /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
