Safe Operation Notice

This equipment performs well when being used as designed, while the artificial
harm or damage should still be avoided.

Read this manual carefully and keep it well for future reference.
Keep the equipment away from water source or damp place.
Don't place anything on the power cable and keep it out of the reachable scope.
Don't knot or encase the cable to avoid fire hazard.
Make regular inspection to ensure that the power connections and the connecting
pieces of other equipment are reliably connected.
Pay attention to the markup on the wiring terminal when connecting the power
cable (the black end is connected with the negative polarity, the red is connected with
the straight polarity.
The power supply must meet the following conditions:
DC -48V-36V -72V
AC220V220V10, 50Hz
Unplug the power immediately and contact the After-sale Service Department of
the company in the following cases.
Water penetration;
Crash of the equipment or casing;
Abnormal operation or changed performance;
Bad smell, smoke or noise of the equipment.
Please keep the equipment clean and wipe it with soft cotton cloth if necessary.
Leave the ventilator open.
Do not repair the equipment by yourself unless it is clearly indicated in the Manual.

BX10 Integrated Service Platform

Chapter One BX10 Integrated Service Platform

1.1 Product Overview
BX10 intelligent Integrated Service Platform integrates the digit/analogue access,
multiplexing, cross connection, transmission and protocol conversion functions with
the powerful cross matrix in the core. It constructs a unified platform of serial
equipment in a standard structure by combining the service types of the access
networks. It provides GV/GE/DXC/PCM and mixed functions of all modules on
such platforms as public power supply, network administration, cross connection and
motherboard, and it integrates broadband and narrowband networks.

Through the SNMP, the communication state of the whole net could be
monitored in real time.

1.2 Product Features

It integrates such functions as digit/analogue access, multiplexing, cross
connection, transmission and protocol conversion;

There are quite a few models and the 4U, 2U and 1U models are compatible
with each other for convenient capacity-expansion;

Rich interfaces: POTS, 10Base-T, V.35, RS232, RS485, etc;

Flexible layout, plugging into any slot and free selection of interface cards;

Hot plug & pull;

Power supply warm standby

Open bus and rich user interfaces for adding new services;

Flexible networking: chain, tree, star and ring-type networked;

Intelligent network administration system:

human-based management,

accurate localization of fault, distributed management, etc;

64E1 crossing and supporting CAS signaling crossing;

Standard machine frame compatible with BX stand-alone plugboards.

1 , 40

BX10 Integrated Service Platform

1.3 Product Functions

1 Voice access via diversified signaling interfaces:
Automatic telephone, E/M interface, 2W/4W audio, etc.
2

Data access via diversified data interfaces:

10Base-T, V.35, RS232/485, etc.

Notice: RS232 data port should be well grounded or serial port isolator is added
so that RS232 data port will not be burnt out.
3 Optical transmission interfaces, including PDH:
PDH optical fiber terminal: 4E1.
4 Cross connection, E1 plugboard structure:
64E1 crossing and supporting CAS signaling crossing.
5 Converter pool:
10Base-T, V.35 converter pool.
6

Centralized network administration:

Whole net monitoring and SNMP support.

1.4 Module Allocation
1. MCUS provides 4 E1 interfaces and Ethernet monitoring card could be
adopted to realize whole net monitoring.
2. The voice channels are allocated by two and 8 channels may be allocated to
each board at most, 104 channels for the 4U model in full.
3. The data channels (10/100Base-T, V.35) are allocated by one and 4 channels
could be allocated to one board at most, 52 channels for the 4U model in full.
4. The RS232 485 data channels are allocated by two and 8 channels
may be allocated to each board at most, 104 channels for the 4U model in full.
5. Each board provides 8 E1 interfaces (64 for 4U model at most) for realizing
64xE1 time slot crossing and signaling crossing.

BX10 Integrated Service Platform

2.6 CHUPS
The voice services provided by BX10 Integrated Service Platform are realized
by the CHUPS and corresponding service interface cards. The CHUPS is in charge
of data send-receive, data processing and network management information
arrangement, and the interface cards provides interfaces to the voice service
equipment, such as telephone sets, magnet telephone sets, exchanges, etc. The
service interface cards convert the real line signaling and voice signals sent from
different equipment to digital signals and send them to the CHUPS, where they shall
be processed and sent to the opposite end. At the opposite end, such signals will be
restored to the real line signaling and analog speech signals that could be identified
by the user equipment in order to complete the call duration and voice transmission.
The service interface cards include the 2W4WCHUC, CHUFXOC, CHUFXSC,
EMC, MAC and CARC according to the services provided.
The indicator lights on the panel are as follows:

2W/4W mode selector

The voice channel may be set to 2W or 4W work mode by changing the

position of the mode conversion switch. The work mode of voice channel 1 may be
set through S5 and that of voice channel 2 through S6, as shown below:

For each VF channel, there are transmit level setting switches and receive
level setting switches in two groups (24-pin jumpers) (channel 1 is corresponding to
S1 and S2; channel 2 is corresponding to S3 and S4), the regulating range is 031.5dB, and the regulating step is 0.5dB.
The attenuator is composed of 6-section resistor network and the attenuation
of each section is 0.5db, 1db, 2db, 4db, 8db, 16db respectively. Each section is
corresponding to two lines of contact pins and the attenuator of certain section is
switched on if the pins are plugged into the lower part of the switch. The sum of the
attenuation of all sections is the attenuation of the whole attenuator.
The 2W4WCHUC is in 2W mode in default, whose transmit level is 0dBr
and receive level is - 3.5dBr. The voice channel setting may be changed as follows:
