AALRT Company Standard
According to the third provision of Law on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases of the
People's Republic of China (Revised) (Effective as of December 1, 2004), infectious diseases is divided
into Category A, Category B and Category C.

1 Category A infectious disease refers to plague and cholera.

2Category C infectious disease refers to infectious atypical pneumonia, A/H1N1 influenza, AIDS, viral
hepatitis, poliomyelitis, human infection highly pathogenic avian influenza, measles, epidemic
hemorrhagic fever, rabies, epidemic encephalitis B, dengue, anthrax, bacillary and amebic dysentery,
pulmonary tuberculosis, typhoid and paratyphoid fever, epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis, pertussis,
diphtheria, neonatal tetanus, scarlatina, brucellosis, gonorrhea, syphilis, leptospirosis, bilharziasis and
malaria.

3Category C infectious disease refers to influenza, mumps, rubella, acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis,
lepriasis, epidemic and endemic typhus, kala-azar, echinococcosis, filariasis, and infectious diarrheal
diseases excluding bacillary and amebic dysentery cholera, typhoid and paratyphoid fever.

4Other infectious diseases which are not included in the above provision but needs to be classisifed
as category B and category C shall be at the discretion of Public Health Administration Department of
the State Council for publication.

5 As for Category B infectious diseases such as atypical pneumonia, A/H1N1 influenza, pulmonary
anthrax and human infection highly pathogenic avian influenza, the prevention and control measures for
Category A infectious diseases shall be taken.

2.1 The environmental health shall be strengthened and the Rolling Stock Division shall sterilize and
wash trains; the Maintenance Center shall eliminate vectors such as rats, mosquitos, and flies, ensuring
that the sanitary condition is in compliance with Hygienic Standard for Public Places (GB966396731996 and GB161531996) and Hygienic Standard for Public Means of Transportation.
2.2
2.2 Any patient with infectious disease or any person suspicious of infectious disease shall be reported
to the First-aid Center.
2.3
2.3 Upon discovery of anyone who claims he/she carries infectious disease and threatens passengers
or staff, the police shall be called immediately and surrounding passengers shall be reminded of the
danger in a proper manner.
2.4
2.4 The one who has infectious disease shall inform the fact to the Division.
2.5
2.5 Upon outbreaking and prevalence of infectious diseases announced by the Government, the
following prevention and control measures formulated by the Government shall be taken following the
