Three Goals in Las Vegas

Hi. My name is Tom Reasoner, and my son's name is Thomas Reasoner. My son
played with the u12 Attack team, and they went to a tournament in Las Vegas. I went, of
course. Who wouldn't want to go to Vegas? It was Friday morning, and I was driving my
family to Las Vegas. I'd say it was about 11a.m. When we got to Las Vegas it was
amazing. You know you're in Las Vegas when you see all the lights with the specially
themed hotels, like the New York, New York . Also, there is Treasure Island, which is
more of a pirate themed hotel. Or, if you are looking for something a little more
European, there is the Venetian, which is an Italian hotel, where there is a river which
they take you from place to place on boats. But, we stayed in the Hilton, which is one of
the regular hotels in Las Vegas. When we got to the hotel, everyone was so hungry so
we decided to go out and eat. When we got to the restaurant, the whole team was all as
hungry as if we hadn't eaten in 2 months. My son and I ordered the meat pizza, which
had sausage, pepperoni, and ham on top of warm melted cheese on top of the soft
crust. It smelled amazing. After dinner we went back to the hotel. And, after a long day
driving, we went straight to sleep because the team had their first game in the morning.
The first game was 8 a.m. so the boys had to be there at 7 a.m. This wasn't easy,
because it took a while for them to get out of bed. When we got to the field, we watched

the team warmup. Their first game was against a team from El Cajon called the Aztecs.
The game started, and it went on for a while with nobody scoring until late in the second
half. A boy from my son's team named Stephan scored a goal off of a corner kick, and
when he did, all the parents were cheering and the kids had the biggest smiles on their
faces. The game ended up 1-0 and the boys won.
Later, at 4 p.m. we played a team called the Temecula United. Right off the bat, 5
minutes in, the other team scored from an amazing shot outside the box. Then, later in
the first half, my son's team scored a goal off of a free kick, which tied the game 1-1.
Then, no other teams scored until the last 2 minutes in the second half. One of my son's
defenders gave away a penalty, and the other team score. Then, right off the kickoff, my
son's team scored with a breakaway. the game ended 2-2. Now my son's team had a
record of 1-1-0 which is one win, one tie, and no loss. After that we went to get
something for dinner and went back to the hotel.
The next morning, they had their last match. They had to win this game in order
to go to the semi-finals. They played a team called Golden State, which was from the
L.A. area. They started off the game nice and everyone was playing well, but my son's
team had all the possession. In the middle of the first half, my sons team scored twice.
In the second half they scored two more goals off of corners, and the game ended 4-0.
My sons team was going to the semi- finals! Since my sons team was going to the semi-

finals, and we had to stay at least another night, all the parents decided to reward the
kids and stay at the New York, New York for one night. That night the kids played in the
arcade and rode on the roller coaster. I did too, of course, because it is really fun and
neat because the roller coaster is inside the hotel. Then, the kids were all so tired, so we
all went back to our rooms and went to bed.
The next day our game was at 11a.m., which meant we had to be there at 10am.
We are playing a team called FC Strikers from the Irvine area. We got into the first half
and right away my son's team scored. This was a very good start for the boys. Then,
right before the half ended the same boy scored again. Then, in the second half the,
other team scored off of a breakaway. The score was now 2-1, which is close, and if my
son's team doesn't win they are out of the tournament. Then, right before the game
ended the same boy on my son's team scores to make it 3-1 which means he had a hat
trick (if you score three or more points in a single game). The game ended 3-1, and
when the referee blew his whistle, the crowd roared, and the whole team was jumping
up and down for joy. So now they had a game at 4 against the Del Mar Sharks.
The final was very exciting for the players, the coaches, and the parents. This
game was the last game in the tournament, and whoever won was the champion. It was
also extra exciting for me because my friend, who I played pro soccer with, was
coaching the other team. So I really wanted my son's team to win. The game started off,

and both teams were playing very well. Late in the second half, my son got a breakaway
and chipped the keeper with his left foot and scored. I stood up and started clapping and
shouting with all the other parents. The half ended 1-0 us. In the start of the second half,
my son shot a ball from the top of the box into the upper left corner for another goal to
make the game 2-0. Now, it was getting really tense for the other team because they
had to score a goal to have a chance at winning the tournament. Then, later in the
second half, my son's team had a corner from the left side. The left defender from our
team took this kick, and he whipped the ball in, and Thomas headed it into the back of
the net to make the score 3-0, which means he had a hat trick. When the referee blew
the game ending whistle, our stands went crazy, and they all ran onto the field, shouting
like crazy people. We went to the awards ceremony, they gave all the players medals.
When the team got the trophy, they gave it to my son to keep. My son still has his trophy
in his room. Then we all drove home and went back to
