ndiabix, sanfoundry, w3schools etc. Refer to Tutorials point for DBMS which give
s you a clear cut idea with examples.
I am presently going through this phase of LFH and got my joining, here's my unb
iased views :
Is LFH important ? YES, very much (knowledge sake) and especially if you are
from NON-CSE background I would really suggest to go through all the LFH portio
ns very sincerely and also clear your concepts outside the LFH slides too.
Guys from CSE background, UNIX is there in the LFH portion, which I think is
new for you, so go through that sincerely.
These are the topics that are covered and some of the respective reference b
ooks to go through them:
1. Programming foundation (C programming and data-structure) - for beginners
go through Balagruswamy FIRST then, Mastering C by K R Venogopal.
2. DBMS & RDBMS - best book is DBMS by Rajiv Chopra and IIT/NPTEL videos lec
tures by by Prof. Partha Pratim Chakrabarti (IIT KGP).
3.UNIX - best book is UNIX Concepts by Sumitabha Das
4.WEB TECHNOLOGY (JavaScript & CSS) - LFH slides are very good, additionally
one can go through @W3Schools Online Web Tutorials site.
5.Software Engg & Testing - need not to go through them, as once you join th
e training these topics are ruled out from the tests and moreover in LFH slides
they are given very badly. Only TESTING is there for those who get selected for
BIPM/ORACLE domain during training period.
6. Operating systems- again, this portion is also not there in the tests onc
e you join the training. But still, again for knowledge sake you can go through
the LFH slides - they are good.
Next important question, is 70% score is really important ? NO NOT AT ALL, N
EITHER IN THE MOCK ASSESSMENT NOR IN MAIN ASSESSMENT. But YES, once you join the
training in every exam 70% cut off is IMPORTANT.
There are mainly 10 exams during the training period.
First 1 test on C programming, DBMS & Web technology all together.
Additionally, if you are from BIPM/Oracle domain then UNIX & SOFTWARE TESTIN
G is also included in that test.
3 tests on English grammar & vocabulary
3 tests on the domain specific topics that you are put into SQL/PLSQL is com
mon for all, so prepare that beforehand.
3 CASE STUDIES.
Next question, on what basis does then joining come..?? if not 70% ..?? Join
ing is totally based upon your college comes under which zone.
If you are college is from SOUTH ZONE ,WEST ZONE you could expect an early j
