1. INTRODUCTION
The city hall downloads mapping (CartoBCN) is a project from informaci de
Base i cartografia department, with the main goal to become the official center
of the Barcelona town hall for the production in cartography.

Carto Bcn web aims to be a geoportal with quality cartographic information

destined for final Internet user.

This document is a user guide for the users that explain how to download
cartography using CartoBCN.

2. GEOPORTAL COMPONENTS
The portal mainly consists of a toolbar and a context menu contents. There is
also a choice of displaying the base map and selecting the language and
visualization of map reference.

2.1.

Viewer of cartographic information

Place where you can see the maps.

2.1.1. Base maps

There are three buttons that allow visualizing the basic map, or parcel map or
satellite map (by default map).

2.1.2. Reference Map

It is a general map for location. It uses to locate the area where the users are
working.

If you click on the arrow allows navigating on the map and selecting the product
sheet as well.

The zoom bar allows zooming out and zooming in.

Contents bar

The contents bar has the next functionalities:

1. Initial map: Its the main screen. You can navigate thought map and
download cartography.
2. Useful links: place where you can find useful links regarding to the
geoportal.

4. Procedures: place where you can find all the documentation to request
cartography.
5. Business area: place for downloading and following the request sent it.

7. Videos: place you can view all the help videos of applications
8. Login: Login or Register of a new user. When you are logged, it show
your account data.
9. Cart: Place that show your cartography selection before download.

Context menu

It is the lateral menu of the left that contains the follow functionalities:

2.3.1. Quick Product Search

You can load a product searching by its description or keywords as show next:

You can see our entire catalog by clicking on the Catalog button, placed too
on the Quick Search area.

2.3.2. Locate
It allows locating on the map with coordinates, address or crossroads,
administrative divisions or other administrative divisions.

Search by UTM coordinates, addresses or crossing roads and other.

Search by district and neighborhood.

For example, if you select the neighborhood Barri Gtic from the dropdown
menu select neighborhood, its selected on the map automatically.

2.3.3. Search by key string
It has to write a keyword relating to some administrative division. For example:
health. Then, all the candidates relating with this are selected.

Search by key word.

To select some specific sheet you only have to click on the sheet with this tool:

After, you only have to select the file format and click in add to cart.

2.3.4. Search by geographic scope
It allows searching products through the next geographic scope:

On the map appears all the districts and if you want to select, you can do this
through the checkbox in the lateral menu or by clicking on the polygon.

Once selected it becomes green. If you want to deselected you have to click
again on the polygon or in the checkbox.
To choose the file format to download you have to click in Add to cart. Finally,
you have to click in add to cart.

2.3.5. Collection search

It allows searching products through collections:

If you select Map Series it will appears the list of products..

Then you have to select the sheet (or polygon) of the area that you want,
choose the format and add to the cart.

Business area

You need a CartoBCN account to access the business area.

If the user is already registered, you only should login with your access data.
Otherwise you will be able to register by clicking New user and filling the
registering form.

Register document.

When you are logged in, you should access to our special download area. This
downloads are specially made by our technicians to an express request. If you
have not submitted any request, you will not see any downloadable product.

Cart

The cart has the list of the selected products. If you click in cart will appear a
new menu with information about their size, if its available or not, the type of
file, etc. If you click again in Cart the menu disappears.

Selected cart products.

1. Download: it allows downloading the product.

2. Empty: delete all products in the cart.
3. Total product information, total files and size. It also indicate the
availability product.
4. Basquet summary: it is a bar that a allow controlling the size of the cart
and the maximum allowed.
5. Information about selected products. For example: altimetry sheets
Q177, Q173, etc. If you click in details, it allows seeing the size of the
file.

Information panel

Inform about the data selected and the operation that the user are making.

In the upper left hand corner there is a tab to show and hide the reference map.

Language selection

It allows you to change the language of the site.

My account

When you are logged as a CartoBCN user, you can modify all your account
data, excluding the mail you used to register. You can do by clicking on the
button with your name located at the top right of the application screen.

On this place, you can find your download statistics and the buttons to share
your experience with CartoBCN in the social networks:
