ADMISSION POLICIES
Admission is based solely on merit and the School does not discriminate in admissions on nationality, race,
tribe, ethnic origin or religion. Parents of students with non-Kenyan nationalities must show a valid residence
permit, and obtain a student pass for their child to be enrolled at the School.
All prospective students are expected to be conversant in English, have good numerical literacy, show
academic aptitude and interest in co-curricular/sporting activities, and have a positive record of behavior both
in and outside the classroom.
Standard One Entry
In September each year, the Waridi School admits approximately 60 students into Class 1, aged 5.0 to 6.5
years. Preference is given to students from the Waridi Day Nursery School Nairobi, where the Montessori
curriculum is followed. Students from the Nursery School receive admission to the Primary School if they
have been at the nursery School and graduated (middle & pre-unit class) and they receive a recommendation
for admission from the Head-teacher of the Nursery School. A small number of students are also admitted
from various other nursery schools. For these students, selection is based on performance on entry level
assessments and interviews with the students and parents.
Transfer from other schools
For admission into other levels/classes, an applicant is required to sit an entrance test. An interview will also
be held with the student and sometimes with parents. Past reports from previous schools are taken into
consideration for admission.
Fee Policy
Parents are expected to settle their fees in full by the end of the second week of the term.
Sibling Discounts
Please apply to the Bursar for a discount if you have a second (or subsequent) child at Waridi School. The
discount is five percent for the second child and 7.5 percent for each subsequent child.
Please note that:
1. Caution money is refundable when the student leaves and no liability has been incurred
2. Caution fess can be be increased during the course.
3. Examination Fees are billed separately.
4. Basic text books and exercise books are provided to all students at no extra cost.
5. AAR: Parents will be billed for medical evacuation services.
6. Field trips and year group outings are billed separately.
7. Costs for some Club activities, individual sports and music coaching are billed separately.
8. Book fund will be established soon in consultation with parents
9. All interviews will be subject to an interview fee of Ksh. 1,000 (paid in cash).
10. Any other fees are payable only to the bank.
