Job Purpose:
To assist in the smooth running of the care home by providing high standards of care in compliance
with the NMC code of conduct and company procedures, in addition to representing the Care Homes
statement of purpose in all actions and practice
Key Accountabilities:
Provision of personalised and or person centre care.
The safeguarding of service users.
Continuously assess, implement and evaluate residents care.
Ensure care follows NMC code of conduct.
Maintain professional conduct at all times.
Adopt safe working practices in accordance with health & safety guidelines.
Must meet the minimum CQC standards and maintain professional CQC relationship.
Responsible for continuous professional development in accordance with the requirements of
the NMW guidelines.
Ensure personal development (continuous) and mandatory training is kept up to date.
Key Operational Requirements:
Support and maintain service user wellbeing, and promote activities within the daily care plan.
Maintain detailed and accurate care records, which are reviewed and evaluated on a monthly
basis, or according to service users changing needs.
The ordering, storage and administering of all medication according to the companys policy
and within the NMC guidelines.
To ensure the effective exchange of information of service user care and operational matters of
the home at each shift handover or at any time.
Monitoring of residents dietary intake as part of the overall nutritional assessment.
Adherence to company infection control policy and requirements.
To follow the NMC guidelines in regard to tissue viability.
Record and report any adverse incidents relating to SoVa or RIDDOR and any other issues that
relate to whistle blowing.
Act on complaints following the Caring Homes complaints procedure.
Monitor the delivery of care provided by the staff team.
Ensure confidentiality at all times regarding operational issues, service user and information
relating to colleagues.
The maintenance of good interpersonal relationships with service users, colleagues and
visitors.
To work effectively within a multi discipline team and local support agencies, for example Age
Concern.
Ensure supervision of staff is undertaken no less than 6 times a calendar year.
Provide training support and advice where necessary to all Care Assistants.
Participate in all meetings as directed by your manager.
To understand and participate in the marketing activities of the home.
