--AULOS meaning pipe.

Definition of Hydraulics:Confined fluids under pressure made

to do work.

Fluids mechanics is the physical

science and technology of the
static and dynamic behaviour
of fluids
Hydraulics is a topic in applied
science and engineering
dealing with the mechanical
properties of liquids or fluids.
Fluid mechanics provides the
theoretical foundation for
hydraulics, which focuses on
the uses of fluid properties.

Pascals law the basics of

hydraulic drive system. As the
pressure in the system is the
same, the force that the fluids
gives to the surroundings is
therefore equal to pressure
area. In such a way, a small
piston feels a small force and a
large piston feels a greater
force.

Pascals Law which is the basics
for all hydraulic systems, is
named after a French scientist
Blaise Pascal, who established
the law.

DEFINITION:It states the Pressure exerted

anywhere in a confined fluid is
transmitted equally in all
direction throughout the fluid.

MATHEMATIC

Is the hydrostatic
pressure (given in Pascals in
the SI system), or the
difference in pressure at two
points within a fluid column,
due to the weight of the fluid;
is the fluid density
(in kilograms per cubic meter in
the SI system);
G is acceleration due to gravity
(normally using the sea level
acceleration due to Earth's
gravity, in SI in metres per
second squared);
Is the height of fluid above
the point of measurement, or
the difference in elevation
between the two points
within the fluid column (in
metres in SI)
