Commentary

Rebecca Ogunmola: The production company name for our product is ABB
productions; the logo is at the very beginning of our film. The
role of our production company is to be responsible for
supervising the filming from concept to completion, and they
hold the sole legal and financial responsibility of the movie as a
whole.

Rebecca Ogunmola: A production company is responsible for the development and

physical production of the film and usually handles matters that
consist of financial, legal details and also watch over the
construction of the filming from the very beginning concept till
the final product is created.

Billy Camden: A film distributor is an independent company, which acts as the final
agent between a film production company, and a film exhibitor, to the
end of securing placement of the producer's film on the exhibitor's
screen. Possible distributors for our film may be television channels
such as channel 4 and E4, this is because both channels distribute a lot
of thriller films and because our film is a thriller the distribution of our
film into these programs would maximize viewings and popularity of
our film which would increase the overall profit of our film. We
would also distribute our film via media such as DVD’s which we
would sell in DVD and video stores such as HMV for home viewing
for our audience.

Abigail Odum: For our film, the money may have come from the production
company because they deal with financial issues revolving around the
film. Because our film is a low budget film we only needed to buy a
camera and tripod, plus use editing software, these were all provided
to us by our college and therefore they paid for the filming and
editing of our film.

Abigail Odum: Our film is similar to many thriller films and TV programmes such as
‘Vampire diaries’ and ‘Phone booth’, which are both distributed in
the same way to our product. Both are distributed on E4 and Phone
booth has been shown on channel 4 and made into a DVD, these are
channels that our film would be distributed to and a DVD is a kind of
media that our film would be distributed by.

Billy Camden: Regarding the titles of our opening sequence, we firstly introduce the
film with our production logo, this immediately identified the
company that had funded and helped in the creation of the film. We
then mention who the film is associated with ‘Havering college of
Further and Higher education’, we used this name to show the
audience who contributed to the overall product and who helped in pre
production and construction.
As the film starts, we immediately introduce the main character who is
starring in the film, we reflected this by freezing the frame so the
audience can take notice of the star, we chose to identify the main
character first to distinguish who the film was about and then mention
who else is involved in the film.

As the opening sequence moves on, we introduce the second character

by fading in and out the actresses name to show she is a key character in
the film but a not the main character. We then moved onto the directors,
editors and camera mans names. We firstly introduced the director’s
name then the editors and finally the camera mans name. We did this in
this order to show the level of importance of each person in producing
the film, it was important to use all these names in the titles because it
shows the audience who was the main producers of the film, it also
allows the audience to give credit to each person who was in charge of
specific aspects of the film.
