Introduction
This document will help you successfully install the iVend Retail DemoStack.
It helps you prepare for installation by describing the system prerequisites and then guides you through the
installation process.
iVend Retail DemoStack is a preconfigured set of all the integrated applications of the iVend Retail Management
Suite.
Comprehensive demo data across all masters and configuration settings, coupled with detailed explanation of the
master data, make it far easier for pre-sales, sales and implementation consultants to showcase the power of the
iVend retail suite and for Customers to evaluate the product.

The applications included in the DemoStack are;

iVend Terminal POS


iVend Management Console
iVend Handheld
iVend eCommerce
iVend Passes
iVend Loyalty

The documents included in the DemoStack are;

DemoStack Configuration Data

The DemoStack also has an option to install a preconfigured system, integrated with SAP Business One.
The installer, when executed, will automatically install and configure all the applications of iVend Retail
Management Suite, this may take some time. The document below lists the prerequisites required for the smooth
installation and correct configuration of the environment.
It is essential that the system and application environment is EXACTLY as per the expectations of the installer (see
pages 8 and 9).

Glossary
Term

Definition

iVend Terminal PoS

The Point of Sale client for the Stores where all types of sales transactions
are conducted.

iVend Management
Console

The Management Console connects to either the Enterprise Server or the


Store Server. The Management Console is used to setup master data and
configure the administrative settings that affect how the system will work.
Inventory transactions are performed here. The Management Console is
also the main repository for Reporting.

Enterprise Server

The Enterprise Server is the Head Office component for iVend Retail. The
Enterprise Server can be configured in the following modes:
Enterprise Mode: With Enterprise Mode, the Enterprise Server is the
point of consolidation for all the stores and also the sole distributor for
data to the stores. Any data flow from Store to Store is routed through
the Enterprise Server.
Mixed Mode: With Mixed Mode, the Enterprise server will also be a
store. The Enterprise will have the same functions as for Enterprise
Mode but will also operate as a store.

Store Server

The Store Server is where information is entered about each store. This is
where settings are made affecting the behavior and limitations of each
user and each Point of Sale register. Master record information is
synchronized to and from the Enterprise Server at this server.

Ivend eCommerce

iVend eCommerce is an eCommerce, mCommerce platform allowing


retailers to offer their products on the web, with seamless integration with
iVend Retail

iVend Passes

iVend Passes is a platform for retailers to deploy Digital Passes on Apple


Passbook and Android devices helping to engage customers with a digital
Loyalty Card, digital Coupon or digital Gift Cards

iVend Loyalty

iVend Loyalty is a points & rewards management application, designed to


significantly improve customer retention by bringing them continuously
back and improving customer satisfaction levels. iVend Loyalty is
seamlessly integrated with iVend Retail

iVend Handheld

iVend handheld enables the retail workforce to manage store inventory


using a handheld device running Windows Mobile OS version 6.0 or 6.5.
iVend handheld helps efficient stock taking and goods management

Before Installing iVend Retail DemoStack


Previous Installations of iVend Retail
Ensure that the target system for installation does not have an existing installation of any of the following iVend
Retail products;

iVend POS
iVend Mobile POS
iVend Handheld
iVend Management Console
iVend eCommerce
iVend Loyalty
iVend Loyalty Customer Portal
iVend DemoStack

If any of these iVend Retail products exist please uninstall / remove them and delete any iVend related SQL
databases.

Operating Systems Supported

Windows 7
Windows 8
Windows Server 2008 R2
Windows Server 2012 R2

.Net Framework
The machine where the iVend Retail DemoStack is to be installed should have .Net Framework 4.5 already
installed. The installer will STOP if it does not find the framework.

Microsoft SQL Server


The DemoStack installer will prompt you to install SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition if it does not find an
existing installation of SQL Server on the target machine. This is done automatically.
Note: If you already have Microsoft SQL Server installed, please ensure that the SQL Server collation is
SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
You will be asked for the SQL Server details and password during the installation

Email address and SMTP Details


Although it can be used without, iVend Retail DemoStack requests a valid email address and SMTP server details.
We recommend that you do enter these credentials as these are required by iVend eCommerce, iVend Loyalty
and iVend Passes. The e-mail address will be used across the application landscape to demonstrate how the iVend
Retail Management Suite application can be configured to enable interactive communications with the end
clients internal staff and their retail customers,
The following SMTP configuration details will be required during installation;

A valid email id
SMTP Server
SMTP User
SMTP Password
SMTP Port
Whether using SMTP SSL? (Yes/No)

ERP System Requirements


You may choose to install iVend DemoStack as a Standalone solution (also known as Unplugged) or choose the
integrated with SAP Business One ERP option.

SAP Business One Integration


Should you choose to use the DemoStack with SAP Business One, then please find below the recommended
version details for the integration between iVend Retail and SAP Business One to work effectively;

SAP Business One 9.1 PL 06. If the installed instance of SAP Business One is higher than the 9.1 PL06, you
must upgrade the Database SAP-iVend-DemoStack to your current SAP Business One patch level before
you start using the DemoStack applications.
SAP Business One 32 bit client
SAP Business One 32 bit DI API
iVend Retail DemoStack is configured to work ONLY with US Localization of SAP Business One.

NOTE:
You must allocate a Professional User license to CXSiVend user in SAP Business One. CXSiVend user is used for
integrating data to SAP Business One.

Integration with iVend Passes


iVend Passes offers retailers fantastic opportunities to engage their customers with digital loyalty, digital gift
cards and digital coupon. To experience this you will first need to register at https://pass.ivend.com/
You will be prompted to enter your iVend Passes registration details during the installation.

This Installation Guide presents the minimum setup required to run iVend Retail for the demonstration system.
Note
This guide does not cover the installation of;

Downloading and Installing iVend DemoStack


Citixsys Knowledge Portal
Once you have registered at the Citixsys Knowledge Portal (CKP) at https://knowledge.citixsys.com/home you will
be able to access the Partner Kit area;

Here you will find many resources to help Partners including iVend DemoStack.
Simply click on the Download iVend DemoStack button to begin the process

You will be taken to the Downloads section of the CKP, where you can click the Download button;

We recommend that you save iVendDemoStackSetup.exe to your computer.

NOTE When you download DemoStack you will be sent an email containing
the license key, you will need this at the end of the installation process.
If you cannot find this email please check your Junk mail folder.

Once this is done, navigate to where the downloaded file is located and double-click the file to launch the
installation Wizard

The Welcome screen will appear, click Next

Read and then slect the radio button to accept the terms of the license agreement and click Next

Enter your information and click Next

Accept the default destination of the installation or change it and click Next. The default destination is
recommended to make any support easier and provide a simplied future upgrade path

For the purposes of this document we will install iVend DemoStack - Standalone, click Next

Insert the details of the SQL Database Server, click Next

In order to experience the communication capability of iVend eCommerce, Loyalty and PoS, insert the details of
your SMTP Setup, Select the appropriate Use SSL radio button and then click Next

To experience the integration of iVend Passes enter your details here and click Next. You will first need to register
at https://pass.ivend.com/

Youre all done, now click Install to begin the installation. This may take some time.

Select the Activate a License radio button and then click Next

Select No proxy server (typical) radio button or enter the details of your Proxy server if applicable. Click Next

Enter your email address and the license key that was sent to you in the email when you downloaded DemoStack.
Click Next

You have activated the license. Click Finish

The Installation has completed. Make a note of the credentials as you will need these to access the applications,
then click Finish. You are now ready to begin to use and experience the power of iVend Retail, one of the most
comprehensive, feature rich, integrated Retail Management Systems in the world.

Getting Started
You will find the icons for the iVend applications and documents on your desktop

Double click the icon

Log on using User Name 1 and Password Pass@123

A Simulated Receipt Printer will also appear in order that you can see the output
on the physical receipt. You may close this by clicking the x in the top right corner.

Leave CASHIER Highlighted and Click OK this will allow you to see where a Managers override is required

Launching Management Console


Double click the icon

You will see the Management Console Splash Screen click anywhere on this screen

The log in screen appears. Enter User name 1 Password Pass@123. Then click Login
