INSTALLATION SUGGESTIONS
Horizontal Configuration
2. Unpack the BBA-XXX antenna, but do not cut the plastic wire ties.
3. Bolt the balun and the terminator load if not already bolted to the wires that hang down
from the center of the antenna. You will see wire loops that accept the stainless steel
bolts in the balun and terminator load. The picture below shows how the balun bolts to
the side wires and how the terminator load bolts to the center wire.
If using the OFO open wire feed option the upper end feedline bolts to the antenna where
the balun would normally go and the bottom end of the feedline would be where the balun
would now be bolted in place. See Figure 3.
Figure 1 The BBA-1KE has a larger balun and terminator load then shown in the above picture.
4. The Terminator Load for the high power BBA-1K series antennas is in the above picture it
is to be attached to the center of the center wire around the insulator. Use the small Ubolts to secure it tightly to the stainless steel wires. It hangs below the insulator.
5. You should now take the antenna to the installation site and stretch it out by carefully
cutting the plastic wire ties and carefully unwinding each wire coil as you stretch out the
antenna.
6. The antenna can be deployed on your tower as an inverted Vee antenna, or as a
horizontal antenna suspended between two towers, masts, or other tall structure such as
trees. You will need ropes to complete the installation to hang the antenna and to
suspend the ends from the insulators.
7. Install your feedline and weather proof the RF connector.
