Looking at the
computer screen for a
long period of time can
cause strain to eyes.
Back and neck pain,
headaches and
shoulder and arm pain
Could affect your
posture if slouching
while working.

Take breaks regularly, every 45

minutes for 15 minutes, to rest
your eyes and body and avoid
working in the dark.

Carrying
equipment from
one location to
another.

Equipment could drop

and injure the holder.
Equipment could be
carelessly carried,
injuring people around
(the general public)

All members of the group should

know how to hold every piece of
equipment properly and should
be aware of their surroundings,
if they are unable to carry a
piece of equipment they should
look for an alternative form of
transport in order to get the
equipment from location to
location.

Eating and
drinking whilst
using electrical
equipment.
E.g.: Cameras,
TV, lights etc

Water or food can spill or

fall on electrical equipment
which could ultimately
damage it.

Eating and drinking should not

be allowed when working with
and around any electrical
equipment.

Not putting
away
equipment
properly and
leaving wires
out around on
the set of
filming.

This could lead to tripping

or falling over equipment,

Damaged
equipment
could be
hazardous to

e.g. damaged wires could

harm/electrocute you

Make sure all equipment is put

away properly and double check
To avoid people tripping over
any wires whilst filming, I will
make sure I make everyone
aware of them and remove them
where necessary, For example,
behind the television there is a
potential risk of tripping over
wires, I will ensure they are
tucked away.
Keep an eye out for damaged
equipment and replace them as
soon as possible.

Filming Highangled shots

The weather
(i.e. rain)

Could fall and damage

equipment while also
harming any individuals
around it on set before,
during or after filming
In order to film high-angled
shots you might need to
stand on other objects (e.g.
chairs) putting you at risk of
falling and getting injured,
also any objects around
may fall and break if one is
not careful, this could also
break or damage
equipment

I will place the camera and

tripod firmly on the ground to
prevent any damage.

to avoid falling over we will ask

a group member to hold the
object in place whilst they stand
on it.

The equipment used for

filming could get damaged
by the rain and could
become a danger to the
camera person i.e. loose
wires

To avoid this I can make sure I

check the weather before we go
out and start filming, ensuring it
is suitable to work in.

Leaving
camera
equipment out

Dehydration

When filming cutaways, we

left the camera equipment
in the centre of a busy
place, having them walk in
and out of the shot. This
could come in the way of
people walking; they could
trip and fall over from the
tripod legs, while damaging
camera equipment.
While carrying equipment
in the park, there is a
potential risk that either of
the team members could
get dehydrated and faint as
a result. This is because
we are filming in the middle
of summer where the
weather is very hot.

To avoid having this danger, the

camera person Simran, could
ensure she stands by the
camera at all times so that the
general public are aware of the
camera and the tripod. We could
also avoid areas that are too
busy and rushed.

All members of the team should

carry bottled water and eat well
before they got out to film.

Since the park is a public

the equipment in the park

because there would be a

carelessly, increasing the
risk of having them knock

themselves and possibly

Dehydration

The camera person should also

check to see every piece of
equipment is still in its bags,
undamaged, at a regular basis.

With large crowds of

people, there is a risk that
the equipment could be
stolen or damaged by
having it knocked out of
your hands.
