Bodywork
The Mercedes-Benz MB100 panel van has a wheelbase of
2,455mm and a vehicle height of just 2000mm. The body is
mounted to a chassis frame, and the frame is constructed of
tubular steel in a H shape to reduce vehicle weight and
assist in absorbing stresses. Collapsible bars are incorporated
in the front of the chassis to increase occupant safety.
Doors
Wide boarding non-skid step in the front of the front axle
with a 65 degree door opening angle and grab handles made
for easy entrances. It also has a sliding door and large
tailgate allowing easy access to the rear compartment.
Standard central locking adds to the convenience.
Cab/Seats
Inside the cab there is generous space for both driver and
co-driver. The colour scheme of the interior is dominated by
well-balanced shades of grey. This contrasts pleasingly with
the colour of the seat covers which provides a pleasant,
passenger car-like environment. The seat is made of long
lasting fabric.
Heating/Ventilation
Standard air conditioning combines with the finely adjustable
four-speed fan that helps to maintain cabin comfort.
Instruments
The ergonomically arranged instrument panel provides the
driver with essential information, and comprises the
speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, fuel gauge as well as
warning/indicator lights for turn signals, battery charge, oil
pressure, high beam and brake/parking brake.
Suspension
The front suspension consists of double wishbone, torsion bar
and air/hydraulic shock absorbers. The rear suspension is by
parabolic springs and air/hydraulic shock absorbers. Front
and rear are also fitted with anti-roll bars.
Brakes
The MB100 model is equipped with a hydraulic dual-circuit
brake system with vacuum brake booster. The two brake
circuits are independent of each other and therefore offer
maximum safety in the event that one circuit fails. Ventilated
disc brakes are on the front and drum brakes on the rear
with Load Conscious Limiting Valve (L.C.L.V.).
