The reason why I chose to analysis this music video is because I really like the song and the story
line alongside it, the video has a very unique story, but also I like how basic the filming has been
as there is nothing very expensive that has been used to film this video; finally In my final music
video I feel as though there would be part of the video I would interrupt in my own way. I came
across this track on YouTube as it was a suggestion to other music videos I was listening to at the
time; however I have heard the song before this. As this song is by Gabrielle Aplin; and the song
title please dont say you love me, already hinted to me that it would have a nice storyline about
a girl and a boy that would have a happy ending so the main influence to the context was the title
of the song and the artist. In an indie folk/pop there are a number of things they include, such as
vintage feel; as in this video they are in a vintage car but also the setting and location as it is in
the country side. I feel that in the music video the only way that this video could depart from its
genre is when the artist is singing, in order to make it fit the genre more instruments could be
used / performance of the song. I feel that this song is aimed at young adults and both men and
women, this is because real love is when you are older therefore young adults but both men and
women can relate to the lyrics. However I feel it was mainly aimed at girls to the artist as I do not
feel as if she would have many boy followers. I guess that this song suggests that I am someone
that can be quite sensitive and maybe someone who doesnt quite know what they want, but at
the same time follows their heart. This text doesnt really have that much relevance to me
however I can relate to some of the lyrics. This video takes for granted that you will be able to
relate to the song lyrics and therefore will be more likely to listen to it. Also love is something that
is involved in the majority of peoples lives. There are no real shift within the style of the video as it
is always based around the same people and meaning throughout. The video seems the expect
the response from the audience that you should always follow your heart because in the end it will
work out (in which it does in this video). I feel that the video invites you to listen to the lyrics and
interpret them in your own way. But also give the audience an insight of what happens if you just
go along with your heart. However this could lead in a penalty in the audience as it may not work
out this way for everyone (with a happy ending). I feel that this video is fairly typical of a music
video however I feel that it can be seen as fairly unique as the day and night itself is not exactly
something everyone would do.

The reason why I chose to analysis this music video by Kodaline is because I feel that the video
was different and unique to ones that I have previously watched; also the story line alongside it.
The main difference of this video compared to others that I have previously looked at, is that the
screen has been split in half throughout the majority of the video this then allows us the look at
both lifes of the characters in the video until they finally meet at the end hence it being called
The one. I came across this track on YouTube as it was a suggestion to other music videos I was
listening to at the time; however I have heard the song before this, but I have never watch it
before and it was not what I expected it to be. As the song title was The One I was already
expecting that it would be about a man and women finding each other and them being the right
one for each other, however I wasnt expecting it to be after so long. As this is an indie pop there
are a number of things they include, such as vintage feel; but the pop side is a happy ending along
with a pretty boy and girl. Indie pop also includes things such as bright colour and distinctive
clothing to the indie genre finally the setting and location as it is in the country side and rural area.
I dont feel that in the music video there is anything that suggests that is not an indie pop video
other than the slow start to the song. I feel that this song is aimed at young adults and both men
and women, this is because its about finding the right man/women in your life and this is what
most young adults try to do. However I feel it was mainly aimed at men as it is Kodaline that
empathies so it could be seen from a males point of view about finding the right girl; however
women can also relate. I guess that this song suggests that maybe I am looking for the right one
and that maybe you should just wait because everything happens for a reason. But also that I am
someone that can be quite sensitive and maybe someone who doesnt quite know what they want.

The reason why I chose to analysis this music video by Tom Odell is because that it had a nice
setting but also it was different as it used young people in the video rather than adults. I also
liked the fact that it linked back to Tom on the piano as I feel that it made the video more person
as he was singing the lyrics can was almost like he was telling the story but as he was it was
showing you flash backs of the story. The main difference of this video compared to others that I
have previously looked at is the setting as it is based around children the location of the filing is
in playgrounds and bedrooms; which is typical of children. However it still has been filmed in a
rural area. I also like how it looks fairly old fashioned as I feel that this emphasises the fact that it
is from a indie folk/pop genre. I came across this track on YouTube as I did search for a Tom Odell
track called another love but I didnt really enjoy the video and grow old with me was a
suggestion to other Tom tracks. As the song title was grow old with me I was already expecting
that it would show the life of both enjoying all their years together; but however this track doesnt
and it only shows them as children which could emphasises the fact this never happened. As this
is an indie pop/folk music video there are a number of things they include, such as vintage
feel/old fashioned look; but the pop side is a happy ending along with a pretty boy and girl. Indie
pop also includes things such as bright colour and a fairly big house; the indie genre is normally
set in the country side and rural area. I dont feel that in the music video there is anything that
suggests that is not an indie pop/folk apart from the clothing, as they are young they would be
likely to get told what to wear and also be expected to be in uniform therefore the clothing was
fairly mainstream. I feel that this song is aimed at young adults and both men and women that
want the person they are with to grow old with them. I guess that this song suggests that maybe I
want what this song is saying throughout, but also Im a sensible person and maybe want to have
life easy with the same person. This text doesnt really have that much relevance to me as I am
still young and I dont want to be thinking about growing old yet, however I can relate to some of
the lyrics for my future life. This video doesnt really take anything for granted however people
may be able to relate to the lyrics and as it looks like it will how their life they may watch it all the
way to the end. There is no real shift within the style of the video as it is always based around the
same people and meaning throughout, however it does shift location when Tom sings. I feel that
the ending of the video is not typical of that of previous videos I had watched as it doesnt have a
happy ending.
