- 4-6 years replacement interval for fans depending on

environmental conditions
- 8-10 years replacement interval for electrolytic capacitors
- 6 years maintenance interval for overall system

2.7

- N+1 Parallel connected systems with off-load boost

charge functionality (interlocked with output switch)
- Passive Load-Sharing for >= 2 units in parallel with inclined
output characteristic
- More accurate Load-Sharing is possible with CAN-Bus
communication between 2 units

2.8

- The country of brand of the main parts/components of the

DC UPS system is Western Europe (Switzerland, Germany,
Italy, France etc.), Japan and North America.

- Battery sizing parameters: (fdv=final discharge voltage)

For VRLA Batteries:
Temperature: 20C, Ageing Factor: 1.25, fdv: 1.80Vpc
For Vented Lead Acid Batteries:
Temperature: 20C, Ageing Factor: 1.10, fdv: 1.70Vpc
For NiCd Batteries:
Temperature: 20C, Ageing Factor: 1.10, fdv: 1.10Vpc
- Stated VRLA battery classification BS 6290-4 Category 1H23
is no longer valid and has been superseded by IEC 6089621, -22.
- To allow practical battery sizing voltage variation
tolerances of -11.5% / +12.5% are used.

-For batteries with gas recombination charging currents are

limited. It is not possible to meet recharge times and
capacity restoration for applications having 60minute or
longer support duration .
The recharge time to 85 - 90% nominal capacity of a fully
discharged (100% DOD) VRLA battery is < 12hours.

- Standard units will comply with harmonic limits for supply

capacities greater than 250 times the kVA rating of the DC
UPS (IEC 61000-3-12, Table 2 or 3). For supplies with limited
power capacities additional filter networks can be fitted.
