Our Company
McNamara Contractors Limited is a privately owned company incorporated in 1972
by Tom McNamara who is the managing director today. The company was formed in
Luton, Bedfordshire but was later moved to Southampton in 1976 mainly due to long
term contracts from John Laing Limited. We relocated to our current location in 1994
where we have a large spacious property consisting of offices, workshops and storage
facilities.

McNamara Contractors Limited specialises in groundwork and civil engineering. We

have our own complete in house system which allows us to work efficiently and
compete for contracts effectively by cutting costs. This is achieved by using direct
labour, supplying our own plant, transport, mechanical labour and workshop. In
addition to this we operate a family focused management team and have our own
team of technical staff to support management.

The Directors run a sister company, Kerry Plant and Transport Limited, established in
1990, which supplies us with modern plant and machinery. Kerry Plant and Transport
Limited assist us with transport of plant and materials to and from site as well as site
clearance.

McNamara Contractors Limited has a current turnover in excess of 3 million; we

have a very high reputation within the construction industry and we refer you to pages
10-13 for complete lists of our current and completed contracts.

Our Clients
Throughout the past 35 years we have developed well-established relationships with
national and regional clients such as Laing Homes, Osborne, Barratt Homes,
Persimmon Homes, Kier Group, Austin Builders, Beard, Amiri Construction, Basil
Wyatt & Sons, Drew Smith and many others. We have also worked for smaller
contractors, local authorities and Statutory Authorities throughout Central Southern
England, and we are a nominated company on the Hampshire Approved list of
Contractors. We always aim to work as closely as possible with our clients with
every attempt of creating a shared objective approach to the projects in hand.

Awards Received
We have received seven NHBC Top 100 awards and can supply many references and
letters of thanks from satisfied customers.

Our Workforce
McNamara Contractors Limited has a dedicated and committed workforce and we
always encourage our staff through rewarding improvements in skills and attitude.
Through this we are proud to present a multi-skilled and talented workforce and
maintain a happy and satisfied team of workers. This is demonstrated through our
ability to retain staff that we have had the pleasure to train to the highest standard.
We currently have approximately 40 members of staff of which the majority comprise
of direct labour employees supported by six members of office and management staff.
A third of our workforce has served McNamara Contractors with over ten years of
dedicated service.

McNamara Contractors ensure that all our employees receive adequate training and
assessment and this is an ongoing process. We use an external training company to
train and certify our operatives. Induction and toolbox talks are regularly carried out
by our Safety Advisor.

McNamara Contractors operates from an office and yard situated in Awbridge, near
Romsey in Hampshire. You can find us by travelling north from Romsey for
approximately 2 miles along the Salisbury Road (A27), and turning right into Danes
Road. We are located about 400 yards on the right hand side.

Health, Safety and Environmental Policy

Our Health, Safety and Environmental Policies form the backbone of all our activities
and we believe that it is our duty, as managers, to ensure that every member of staff is
aware of their responsibilities. McNamara Contractors have external health and
safety consultants to advise management of our duties. The consultants carry out
regular safety inspections of the sites, check operator registers and log books and
report all finding back to us. They also carry out toolbox talks with the workforce.
Brendan McNamara is our nominated person responsible for Health and Safety and he
acts on advice from our safety consultants when preparing Method Statements and
Risk Assessments. These are in turn communicated to our workforce and subcontractors via our site foremen. Brendan McNamara also ensures that all staff
comply with all safety regulations such as the Manual Lifting regulations. McNamara
Contract achieved Chas accreditation in December 2008 which is on-going.

Our buying department will select materials, plant and equipment with due regard to
minimalising energy. We will promote the use of the materials which comply with
environmental standards and set out by the relevant statutory bodies. We encourage
the reduction of waste and we use suppliers whose policy on the environment and
recycling is similar to our own and who promote a high standard in this important
area. We require our employees to comply with noise, vibration, dust and disposal of
waste regulations.
