and Water Appropriations bill, Army Corps of Engineers, Operations and Maintenance account
for the City of Piedmont. The entity to receive funding for this project is the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers - Little Rock District, 700 West Capital, Little Rock, AR 72203. It is my
understanding that the funding would be used to continue ongoing operations and maintenance
of the Clearwater Lake-! Black River project being conducted by the Army Corps of Engineers. I

I am requesting funding for Sims Bayou Federal Flood Control Project in fiscal year 2009. The entity
to receive funding for this project is U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Harris County Flood Control
District, located at 9900 Northwest Freeway, Suite 220, Houston, Texas 77092. The funding would
be used for flood damage reduction project wholly within Harris County that uses channelization to
significantly reduce flood risks. Flood damage reduction is in the national interest by reducing loss of
life, injury and property destruction and reducing emergency and recovery costs. Federal support is
necessary because of the large costs associated with completion of the project. Sims Bayou is a
federal flood control damage reduction project in the latter stages of construction and has been

I am requesting funding for the National Wind Energy Center in Fiscal Year 2009. The
entity to receive funding for tbis project is University of Houston-National Wind Energy
Center located at 4800 Calhoun Road Houston, Texas 77004. The funding would be
used to develop a national large wind turbine test facility in Texas and advance offshore
wind energy technology for cost-effective energy production through collaborative R&D
with state and federal agencies and industry. I certify that neither I nor my spouse has
