Killzone Technologies:

Nearly all the weapons in the Killzone universe are self-explanatory, with the
exception of the Petrusite cannons, missiles, and guns.
Warp Drive: The FTL used in Killzone, nothing is really explained about how it
works. Presumably it may work the same as Star Trek warp drive, but that is only
my private speculation.
Energy Shields: Self-Explanatory
ISA Beam Thrusters: These are obviously for propulsion for the ISA cruiser, but
can also be used as weapons. The exact form of energy they use is unexplained.
Petrusite Weapons: These are weapons used by the Helghast that are powered by a
element unique to their world, known as Petrusite. There are two versions of this
element, blue, which is the standard version, and green, which is the radioactive
version. The Helghast have used Petrusite to create everything from beam cannons
to missiles to energy shielding.
Dispersive Armor: The armor used on the ISA Cruisers. How it works is unknown,
but I suggest that in game terms that it reduces enemy weapon damage by at least a
third.

Helghan Empire:
The Helghan Empire is the primary antagonist of Killzone. The citizens of the
Empire are known as the Helghast. The Helghast were once human, but after
voluntarily exiling themselves to the unforgiving planet that became known as
Helghan, they mutated and became more or less a tougher variant of humanity. The
Helghan Empire is very much like Nazi Germany, and desires to avenge themselves
on the ISA and UCN.
