OPERATIONS:

On Tuesday, staff met with Superior

Computer Products to discuss server issues
and work through some computer
configuration concepts for 2016. One
change will provide each officer an
individual login and desktop allowing for a
more efficient use of the system.
On Wednesday, staff attended a TZD
(Towards Zero Deaths) meeting in Pike
Lake to discuss current trends and updates to
the program. There was input from our
agency regarding the increase in DUI arrests
stemming from controlled substance use as
opposed to alcohol use.
On Thursday, staff met with members of the
Restorative Justice project to discuss
updates and status of the program.

suspect, a 49 year old Cloquet woman

was arrested and lodged at the county
jail on charges of theft.
And something funny to make your
weekend:
A thief was caught after stealing some
paintings from the Louvre in Paris, when
his getaway van ran out of fuel.
Given bail at his first hearing, a reporter
asked him on the steps of the courthouse
how he forgot such a vital part of his plan.
"Simple," said the thief, "I had no Monet
for Degas to make the Van Gogh."

We have moved forward with our plan to

conduct new officer interviews next
Thursday, January 28th. The interviews will
be held at the Cloquet Forestry Center.
Panelists will ask questions focused in three
areas; Job Skills, Leadership and Character.
We have enlisted the help of a variety of
current staff and community members.

PATROL/DETECTIVES:
Between 3 and 4 AM on Friday, one of our
officers was doing foot patrol inside a local
retail establishment. During the detail, the
officer saw a woman concealing
merchandise in a large tote bag. The female
walked by the officer and left the store
without paying for the merchandise. The
officer followed the female into the parking
lot. Upon seeing the officer following, the
woman ran a short distance and threw the
tote bag under a parked vehicle. The
