IN THE KNOW
The last quarter of the year culminated with three major events that took
place, 11th year Anniversary of Consolacion Chapter, Installation of the New
Governance Team and Christmas Celebration with the Family. Many weekends leading to the new governance installation day was spent on meetings,
planning and envisioning what the next three years achievable goals should
be. Current governance team provided a lot of help in planning, proposing

enhancements and pledges to continue their service to the community in
every possible way. Units C & D were able to share their blessings through their respective outreach
initiatives. The last mens breakfast for the year with Kuya Butch as life sharer was attended by some
18 PNP officers invited by Kuya Orly Secretario. In spite of the hustle and bustle of the season, the
community managed to celebrate Christmas modestly but fun filled event with the family.
The chapters number of members may not have increased exponentially year over year but I have
seen how the community has grown graciously and deeper in faith through the meaningful teachings, spiritual and transformational programs of the chapter. We just couldnt imagine a grace filled
year and life without the community and the prayers that help us see through the many challenges.
As we face the New Year, may we continue to seek Jesus Christ in the midst of the daily grind, remain
humble in every triumph and generous in all success. To God be the glory!

BCBP Consolacions 11th Anniversary and Commitment Rites

More than 100 members of BCBP Consolacion
joined the celebration of the Chapters 11 th anniversary at BIG Hotel, Mandaue on Nov 21, 2015.
The celebration was made even more meaningful
as the new graduates of CLP # 11 as well as batch
9 and 10 declared their commitment to the covenant of BCBP and become official members of the
community.
The program started with the traditional Saturday Breakfast Meeting and the sharers were
none other than our very own Program and Services Director (PSD) Kuya Axel and Ate Fely Tumulak. It was such
a pleasant surprise
for most of the
members since the
name of the sharers were withheld
until the event.

story and proclaimed their victories from trials

and challenges. The key message was; if it werent for the grace of our loving God, they could
not have overcome their problems and enjoy a
peaceful life they have now. Their story was
very inspiring and truly touching.
A Eucharistic mass followed at 10am presided
by Rev. Fr. Clyde Salitrero. Before the mass
ended, our chapter head Kuya Marvin and Ate
Juda Soco led all CLP 11 graduates as they read
and commit themselves wholeheartedly to the
BCBP covenant.

Always have fun in BCBP by Marvin Soco

It was 3 years ago when I accepted the challenge to lead a very dynamic and young chapter. I was
blessed to have leaders and members who are willing to sacrifice for the sake of making the chapter
of what it is today. At the onset of my administration as your Chapter Head, we instituted radical
changes which is new to some of the members but it resulted into something good and beneficial for the Chapter.
Im very happy that our efforts are already being recognized
by our Region and National office.
All of these things were not possible without the help of my
Governance Team, therefore, allow me to give honor to
these extraordinary people.

To our incoming chapter head, Bro Butch and Sis Luz Gomez, thank you for accepting the challenge to
lead our chapter for the next 3 years. I believe with your leadership, the chapter will reach greater
heights with the help of our new and strong governance team. Again, let me share with you my secret
in my service and that is, Always have fun in BCBP
To our new leaders, good luck and more power in your service!

Gasa Sa Gugma by Wilbert and Girlie Ang

It was Unit Ds turn to extend blessings to our less privileged brothers and sisters. The chosen institution was Gasa Sa Gugma in Cabantan St., Mabolo, Cebu. Its a home for the dying destitute old folks
where most of them are abandoned by their families and some have no remaining relatives and family members. Gasa sa Gugma is a non-profit organization that is run and managed by the Missionaries
of Charity, Sisters of Mother Teresa. Their daily subsistence mainly relies on donations.
We represented Unit D together with ate Melody Foronda and ate Marie Esparcia and donated 130
packs of food for dinner last December 1, 2015. Picture taking was not allowed to protect their identity and we respected that. We admire the volunteers who go out of their way to care for these people; they give their time unselfishly for a noble and charitable cause.
We felt very blessed to be part of this outreach. Had we stayed longer, we could have learned more
from the lolas and lolos. There will always be a next time.

Personal Humility is True Humility by Nestor Gloria

Humility is tantamount to servanthood. It is a
measure of a successful life as pointed out by
the Gospel according to St. Matthew. We are
admonished, The greatest among you must be
your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be
humbled; but whoever humbles himself with be
exalted (Mt 23:11-12).
Greatness is measured by a successful life involving personal relationships, family experiences and spiritual involvement as well as our
professional lives (Sir John Templetons Golden
Nuggets). Great and respected people acknowledge that their greatness comes not from their
personal self but from a higher power working
through them. True humility knows that the
personal self is a vehicle to a higher power.

humility in our service to the Lord as personal

humility. Application of the lessons learned in
philosophy and sanctity are classified under
intellectual and spiritual humility, respectively.
Fr. Clyde pointed-out, servant-leadership is not
a bed of roses but nails and thumb- tacks requiring a lot of kneeling to pray...servant-leaders are
broken to be shared. This is a key note that is
thought-provoking and worth living.
During the last teaching night for the year of the
Chapter after the first Friday Mass (December
4, 2015), the governance laid down the platform
or plan of action commonly termed action plan
in the action group level, the basic unit of BCBP.
The platform for the next three (3) years is
coined to The 3 Ps to stand for Presence, Participation and Personal Spiritual Growth. The individual servant-leader of each service group presented their respective strategies
encompassing or embracing The 3
Ps.
