I. INTRODUCTION
According to Stan Franklin, a cognitive agent is the
autonomous software agent having cognitive features like
multiple senses, perception, concept formulation, and
attention, memory (short term & long term), learning and
emotions etc. These cognitive agents play a vital role in
understanding the human cognition mainly the consciousness
[1].
In recent advancements, scientist are trying to develop the
machines, either in term of software or hardware which
depicts human like behavior such as cognition, emotions,
learning etc. Different researchers develop models in
computer science which are based on human biological
models. One of such models is artificial immune system.
Artificial Immune Systems (AIS) are based on the biological
immune system. The major function of biological immune
system is the defense of body from external agents known as
antigens. Inspired from biological immune system, artificial
immune system are emerged during the past decade [2].
The rest of the paper is discussed as follows: Section II
contains the brief description of biological immune system
while in section III overview of the artificial immune system
is presented. Proposed cognitive architecture for email
classification is discussed in section IV. Section V highlights
the future work and forms the conclusion.
