Hair Colouring
Colouring our hair has become one of the
most common and easiest things to do in
order to change our image, style, or even
just lift our mood. It might be only when we
move to another country or area, or even
when we feel like we arent getting quite
what we need. Finding help in the right
place can be difficult.

Why dont the BBC and the like, all over
Europe, just allow any nationality TV in any
country, particularly within the EU, instead
of spending millions trying to stop us all
the time? We can live, work, get benefits,
get medical treatment in the EU, but we
cannot watch our national TV outside our
home country! Come on Brussels! Sort
this mess! I understand that the BBC is a
special case being funded by the TV Licence
and not advertising, which, in the main, is
international, but I am sure an overseas
licence could be offered with coded strong
small dish signals which would make us
pirates on big dishes obsolete. Maybe one
day?
When buying a house down here in glorious
southern Spain; if TV is important (and the
winters can be long, dark and chilly!), check
that UK TV is available at the property
before you finally sign. Ask a reputable
TV installer to survey. HUGE dishes or A1
Internet is the only way to view UK TV here
and it is not always possible. It is too late
once you have purchased!!

to the humidity.
The descent took
us into the oak
forest that grew
on the side of
the mountain. As we lost height, geology
gave us two new elements, native iron and
flint. We had almost finished our route, but
we made two interesting discoveries; a
huge rift which served as a refuge for some
of our ancestors and a compartment like
a hideaway, which is accessed by a stony
staircase, an easy defence from the highest
point.
We descended in search of our cars headed
to the bar Camacho Caada de la Cruz to
enjoy the memories of the day and plan
new adventures for 2016.
Processional Caterpillars
These deadly caterpillars love to nest in
relatively young pine trees and because
of the mild weather this year, there are
many nests and they are causing a lot of
damage. They can be deadly to animals
if ingested. The animal will most likely
have a serious reaction which can result in
death if not treated immediately. The local
councils are supposed to spray the trees,
but this has not happened in many areas.
Cuchillos
de
la
Lavia is a place
of interest for the
community because
of the geology, where
the
steep
rocky
landscape
makes
it possible for the
nesting of a great
number of birds and
where the Spanish
goat has a secure
refuge.

Dear Editor
Camposol Christmas Carol Concerts
2015
Wellspring Victory Church would like
to thank all the local businesses who
contributed to an amazing series of open
air Christmas Carol concerts held on each
of the four sectors of the Urbanisation.
The church has held these concerts for the
past seven years in order to raise funds
to enable us, on your behalf, to provide
food parcels for individuals and families in
need around our local area, making their
Christmas and New Year more bearable.
Your giving this year, along with the folk
who came along to sing with us and also
gave fantastically to the cause, enabled us
to collect the magnificent sum of 1,070.
Thank you everyone for your amazing
generosity.
November.
This again was a hugely
successful evening, as we raised around
1,000 for this worthwhile event.
Many
thanks to everyone whose generous
donations of food and clothing will help all
those people less fortunate than ourselves,
particularly over the winter period.

Chocolate
St Valentines Day is fast approaching,
so what better time to pull up some
chocolate recipes? I couldnt do chocolate
without adding in a few classics for you. All
the recipes are easy to do, although some
do take time like my Chocolate Cake. Its
a family favourite and always comes out
when its time to make a birthday cake and
I must admit to getting carried away with
the decorations on the top. My recipe for
Banoffee Pie is one I copied from someone
else, but again very easy and I have put
the Spanish name for Caramel just in case
you think it is not available in Spain?

BERTIE
This boy is a bundle of cuteness who spent
far too long in the Perrera. He is a GDS
cross approx 4 months old and is going to
be a biggish boy. He is very loving and we
feel will make a lovely and loyal dog. He
is already really good on the lead and in
the car. Bertie has been fully vaccinated.
Adoption or foster is subject to a home
check.
MILO
This fantastic Lurcher pup now 6 months
old was near deaths door when he was
taken to the Perrera and then rescued and
fostered by Janet who has done a fantastic
job. Milo has lots of energy and when he
runs its a sight to behold, although he can
also be clumsy and sometimes his long legs
are all over the place. He loves cuddles,
food and running, so a family who like to
walk would be great. He has excellent
recall. Milo is now fully vaccinated and has
a passport. Adoption or foster is subject to
a home check.
TILLY
A beautiful miniature Podenco approx
9 months old who we rescued from the
Perrera like a bag of bones and shivering.
She is a quiet girl who is now spayed, fully
vaccinated and has a passport. She is a
dream on the lead and adores her runs,
loves her food and is really relaxed. Tilly
would suit an older active couple who also
enjoy a good walk. Her recall is excellent.
Adoption or foster is subject to a home
check.
ZAK
Sue walks the Perrera dogs on a Monday
and had the pleasure of walking this
gorgeous boy who does not pull on the
lead, and walks to heel. We thought we had
found him a perfect home, but that proved
not to be the case and we asked for him
back, so he is now looking for his forever
home. He is a full GSD and his date of birth
is June 2014. He is good with people and
other dogs. Zak is fully vaccinated with a
passport and castrated. Adoption or foster
is subject to a home check.

took a well-earned break over the Christmas and New Year period, but now our
hard work continues into 2016. A warm
welcome must go to new volunteers Con
and Tom, who have kindly joined us on
these chilly mornings. This month we have
been weeding and spraying the upper part
of the dual carriageway, spreading 24 tons
of gravel around the roundabout, planting
12 new palms and watering all the trees
and plants. All the dried mud along the
main road by the golf club fence, as far
as the rambla bridge has also now been
cleared and swept. If our workers are
in your area, please offer your support.
Spare cash in buckets, even hot drinks and
biccies are appreciated! Were always looking for volunteers even if youre not resident and just holidaying here, youre most
welcome. We offer bacon/sausage sarnies
every Wednesday as an incentive! Please

MABS currently have one Hospice room, but
would dearly like at least one more so we can
provide dignified End of Life care or Respite
care to those patients who have finished their
treatments and need some TLC. With this
in mind the Mazarrn Bahia Lions have
launched an appeal to raise funds for the
second MABS Hospice facility. Its very easy
to get involved and by buying a brick you can
help make this wish come true. Bricks cost
just 10 each. If you would like to buy a
brick the Mazarrn Bahia Lions are outside
Oscars on Fridays, or call into the MABS
Information Office for more information on
how you can help.

Hello ladies.
Our first meeting of the year was a
lovely afternoon spent in the company
of Helena Lamb a local author. It was
very interesting to learn about how she
gathers her characters and information.
She also told us how she got the book
published on Amazon. We also had a
literary based quiz which was a little
harder than we expected!
Chris asked for helpers for meetings
and any new committee members so if
anyone is interested please get in touch
with Chris.

Hi Shirley here! Havent we had some lovely weather over Christmas and New Year?
Lets hope it continues.
The
New
Years Eve
Party
was
very
well
attended
and started
with a set
by
Sandy
Fitzpatrick,
who stood in
for Dan Davy
who was unable to attend
and
everyone
was soon up
dancing. Rob Sweeney and Christine also
entertained us, with a surprise guest artiste, Neil Diamond (played by John, Christines husband). The buffet was excellent,
with plenty to go round and seconds for
those that had room. The raffle took some
time as there were over 40 prizes to be
won. We all had a great evening.
The Games Night held on January 6th was
great fun with the usual mix up of people going to the wrong tables when having
to move if they won or lost at the Beetle
Drive. Some tables ended up with 3 or 5
people when there should have been 4! We
played Bingo, had a quiz about collective
nouns and proverbs which caused a bit of
barracking of the Quiz Master (Rosemary)
and then Family Fortunes. It was a great
way to relax after a busy Christmas and
New Year.
Petanca restarted on January 6th at Marianos. The next games are on the 3rd February and 2nd March. Members 1. For further information please contact Les on 968
131 880 or Rosemary 620 105 179.

Samson,
ex-Show
Jumper,
was
immaculate in his aspect, but physically
and mentally he was a wreck. He could
hardly put one foot in front of the other
and he was dosed up with painkillers and
anti-inflammatories.
Now hes not so
clean and his coat is a bit ragged, but the
expression on his face is one of peace and
happiness. Hes off the drugs, has a social
life, has made friends and enjoys regular
exercise. Emily rode him for the first time
and he was just raring to go and he loves
a good hack.
Weve got the house full of volunteers,
starting to help prepare the move up to

What we really mean is we like what we
like and do not like anything else, but
think back to the Golden Age when Sunday
school was a must, two or three services
a day were the norm and nothing else
happened on a Sunday ever. As a youth I
recall serving at a minimum of two services
a morning every Sunday, so really we do
not usually mean We do not like change
that has taken place. We are concerned
about where change might lead us, or
what might happen to the bits we like now.
First I have to ask a question For whom
does Church exist? Certainly not for those
of us who are members!! The church is
the body of Christ on earth here to do the
work of Jesus which as He said Himself Is
to preach good news and recover of sight
to the blind. We exist for those who are
not yet members. Therefore our question
should be What must we do to reach the
others who do not come? Once we have
the answer to that question the next stage
is simple - do it!!

Christmas Bash
In an attempt to get into the Christmas spirit,
the Los Amigos Golf Society (LAGS) held
their Christmas competition at Camposol
Golf Course......well it would be far easier
to get home for those who indulged a little
too readily in the Christmas spirit! Complete
with a Secret Santa gift exchange, funny
hats and ridiculous jumpers (although they
werent meant to be!) the society was split
into two teams; one representing the society
secretary Razor Ron Johnston and the other
representing the Captain. Unfortunately the
Society Captain was travelling, so the dubious
honour fell to Vice Captain, mighty Mick
Drummond.

Traffic Fines
On the main page of their website,
http://www.dgt.es/es/, information is
now available in English which tells you
what to do in the event of receiving a
traffic violation ticket. Once you click on
the link in English, the sections are then
presented in five topics, detailing what to
do if you have received a traffic violation
ticket, how to identify the offending driver
if it was not the vehicle owner and details
of how to appeal against and pay a fine,
as well as their contact details. Each one
of the topics then explains, in detail, the
procedures to follow. You can read the
information at any time, whether you
have received a fine or not, so it is worth
visiting the site to become accustomed
with the procedures in the event of
receiving a fine in the future.
Page 90
traffic flows.
The driver of a vehicle that has to give
way to another must not initiate or
continue a manoeuvre across a junction
in the event of that manoeuvre causing
a hazard by forcing the other vehicle to
deviate from its speed, course or direction.
Unmarked Crossings
When no signs, signals or road markings
indicating priority are present at a
junction, drivers must give way to
approaching vehicles from their right,
irrespective of the type of vehicle that
it is, including cycles, horse and carts,
agricultural vehicles, cars, buses and
trucks, except in the following cases:
In the event of movement from an unpaved
road to a paved road, the vehicles on the
paved road have priority.
Vehicles running on rails such as trams
have priority over all other road users.
At
roundabouts,
vehicles
on
the
roundabout have priority over those
wishing to enter it.
Vehicles travelling on a motorway have
priority over those seeking to access the
highway.
Signalled Junctions
Drivers of vehicles approaching a
junction controlled by an officer of official
controlling traffic must stop their vehicles
when ordered. The instructions of officials
controlling junctions overrule the signs.
The driver of a vehicle approaching a
junction controlled by traffic lights must
stop their vehicle in order to give way
when indicated by a red of flashing yellow
light.
Road signs P-1, which are formed of
pictograms enclosed in a red triangle
warn of a junction ahead, indicate the
priority through that junction by means of
the larger, bolder arrowed line.
Road sign P-2, which is formed of an
x type cross in a red triangle warns of
a junction where the general rule offers
priority to vehicles approaching from the
right.
At junctions where road markings indicate
the need to give way or to stop and give
way, drivers passing through that junction
on the major road in either direction have
priority through the junction.
Irrespective of the priority through a
junction, no vehicle is permitted to enter
any junction or pedestrian crossing unless
the exit from the junction or crossing is
clear. Some junctions are protected by
yellow boxes which dictate the same,
although the rule applies irrespective
of the presence of such a feature that
a junction must not be blocked by any
vehicle unless the exit from that junction
is clear and the only thing impeded the
egress is the flow of traffic crossing its
path.
Happy Driving!
