Title: Re: Scanning for non-standard PIDs with OBDWiz

Post by: gp1001 on November 16, 2011, 06:54:21 AM
I'm sorry for updating this old topic, but I'm having the same problems as
"davepl"
I bought an OBDLink SX and I installed the OBDWiz software. I'm trying to
discover the ABS (breaks pressure, wheel velocity, etc.) PIDs, in my Fiat Punto
2008.
At first, OBDWiz only monitors 4 or 5 standard PIDs in my car, so I used the
Hyper Terminal in OBDWiz and tried the commands ATH1 and ATMA, and as the
same as davepl, the buffer become full in a couple of seconds...
Then I tried the "STSBR 460800" command, and here is my problem, OBDWiz
gets freezee and the connection fails, and when I try to reconnect, OBDWiz tells
me that it's imposible to entablish the connection, I have to exit OBDWiz and
reconnect the USB Interface manually... I have read the ELM327 v1.3a
instructions and there is another command, BRD hh, where hh is the divisor of
4000/115.2 = 35 in hexadecimal = 23h, for example, but I haven't tried it yet,
which should I use?
The default baudrate in OBDWiz is 115200, but there is something souspicious,
if I go to My PC> Properties > Hardware tab > Device manager > COM 4, the
badraute is 9600 ...
Am I skiping a step? How do I set a higher badraute so that the buffer doesn't
become full?
And then, if I want to add a pass filter, is the command I have to use , for
example, STFAP 18DAF100 1FFFFF00? (I have extended PID) should I use STM
or is there another command to monitor using the pass filters?
Thanks!
(sorry if I made some grammar mistakes, my english is not very advanced)

If you would like to use OBDwiz to monitor the bus, then you will have to
permanently change the baud rate.
To change the baud rate, enter the following commands using a serial terminal
(HyperTerminal, TeraTerm, etc.):
ATZ
STSBR 460800
//switch to new baud rate
STWBR

The next time you use OBDwiz, set it to the new baud rate.

Don't forget the comma (STFAP 18DAF100, 1FFFFF00). And yes, use the STM
command for monitoring.
