The Idea

The System

The Result

The main feature of the passive house

window is that it contains no insulating
material, relying instead on the insulating properties of air. The idea is good;
so good that its patent-protected.

Reason number one for the outstanding

insulating performance of the passive house window: wood thickness of
98mm. Reason number 2: three enclosed
air chambers are built into the frame to
provide heat insulation.

The diagram shows how the passive

house window works. The ow of warm
air is redirected in the area around the
air chambers. This structure provides
the basis for the optimum U-value of
Uw = 0.75 W (m2K). This value, which is
calculated in accordance with the new
European norm EN ISO 10077 rather the
DIN/NORM standard previously used,
already takes into account the energy
loss around the edges of the window
pane.

The Material

The Look

Each passive house window is tted

with an aluminium window drip. The
thermally isolated structure of the drip
also has a prole cross-section designed to provide full heat insulation. The
schematic diagram shows the excellent
performance of this window drip. The
temperature elds remain absolutely
still and consistent throughout the prole section.

The passive house window is of solid

wood construction. The frame and casement are made of locally-supplied solid
wood, and can also be made to order in
a combination of wood and aluminium.

The slim-line design of the passive

house window makes it fully compatible with the needs of todays architecture. The casement is 70 mm wide,
and requires thanks to its completely
covered ttings just 15 to 20 mm of
clearance with respect to the inner face.
The frame is also kept to a slim 70 mm,
and can be clad on the inside to a width
of about 15 mm. The window has a centre seal and a cover seal on the inside of
the casement.

In addition: the passive house

window is of course also available
as a door ...

Double-rabbet system with silicon seal

Multi-tumbler lock supplied as standard, with automatic locking available
on request
Doorstep draught excluder

The passive house door

The door is 98 mm thick. It is designed
to meet the exacting specications of
property owners and architects alike. It
is available in a wide range of variants.
Our house doors naturally full all the
same insulating specications as our
passive house windows.
