LE Ave. = average of 5 long exams
PS/SQ Ave. = problem set and/or short quiz average
Before Finals:
After Finals:

Pre-Final Grade = 0.90 x LE Ave. + 0.10 x PS/SQ Ave.

Final Grade = 0.70 x Prefinal Grade + 0.30 x Finals

Note: A student may be exempted from the final exam if he/she satisfies the following:
a.) A prefinal average of 72.0% or better
b.) No long exam less than 60.0%.

5.

A student who misses an exam due to valid reasons (e.g. illness, etc.) shall be given the opportunity to take a
make-up examination. Only one make-up exam is allowed per student; any remaining missed exams will be given
a score of 0.

6.

Answer sheets must be submitted during class hours at least one meeting before the exam; otherwise a 5%
deduction for the exam shall be imposed. Answer sheets will be yellow pad (8.5 x 14) with the name, student
number section written on the upper right hand corner of every page.
Note:

Do not write at the back of your answer sheets

Use only blue or black pens for your solutions.
Do not use correction fluid.

8.

Complaints regarding examination results shall be entertained for a period of one week after the exam has been
returned. A letter explaining/justifying the corrections should accompany any complaint.

9.

Cheating in any form will be penalized with a filing of intellectual dishonesty with a possibility of a grade of 5.0,
suspension, and/or expulsion from the university.

10.

Students are required to TURN OFF their cellphones and other communication devices during examination hours.
