300 Index as of 2009

The CSI 300 is a capitalization-weighted stock market

index designed to replicate the performance of 300 stocks
traded in the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges.
The index is compiled by the China Securities Index
Company, Ltd..[1]

1. Finance 36.28%
2. Industry 15.93%

It has been calculated since April 8, 2005. Its value is

normalized relative to a base of 1000 on December 31,
2004.[2]

3. Basic Materials 13.55%

4. Energy 9.75%

5. Utilities 7.53%

Criteria

6. Consumer Goods 7.01%

For the index admission must meet certain requirements.
These include

7. Capital 4.90%
8. Information Technology 2.11%

a listing of at least three months at the Shanghai or

Shenzhen stock exchanges (requirement is waived if
daily trading volume is among the top 30 of all Ashares since its listing)

9. Telecommunications 1.50%
10. Health 1.42%
