FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are dual credit courses?

Selected courses for which high school students receive both college and high school credit.
These college-level courses are taught at the high school during the regular school day by high school teachers
who are also adjunct faculty at College of DuPage.

What is the cost of the college course?


These college courses are offered to high school students at no costFREE!

What do I need to do to register for the college course?


Complete the Admission/Registration form and give it to your teacher.
Satisfy the prerequisite, if there is one. You can get this information from your teacher.

Will this course apply toward my degree at COD?


Yes, you may apply the college credits toward your associate degree.

Do College of DuPage courses transfer to other institutions?


College of DuPage courses transfer to most institutions across the United States.

General Education courses transfer easily to other colleges/universities.


Career and Technical Education courses usually transfer to specific institutions within the program area or to other
institutions as elective courses fulfilling credit hour requirements.

How do I let other colleges and universities know that I have earned college credit at COD?
Order a College of DuPage transcript and have it sent to the college/university you plan to attend.

How do I order a College of DuPage transcript?


Go to myACCESS.cod.edu.

Click on "I'm new to myACCESS" to set up your account. Use your COD student ID number.
Once an account is set up, click on "myACCESS for Students" and follow links under "Academic Profile" for
transcript request. Select an "OfficialTranscript Order Form." Have it sent directly from COD to your college/university.

Where do I get my COD Student ID number?


During the term you are registered for the COD course, a letter will be sent to you from the Office of High School
Partnerships that contains your COD ID number.
Ask your high school teacher. Your ID number is on your teacher's College of DuPage roster.
Call the Office of High School Partnerships at (630) 942-2880.

Is it important that I do well in my college course?


You are establishing a college transcript that will contain the course, grade and credits earned.
Once the class is completed, the course and credits cannot be removed from your college transcript.
If you wish to withdraw from the college course, contact your teacher before the course ends.

How do I find out what grade I earned for my college course?


Go online to myACCESS.cod.edu.
Click on "Grades" under "Academic Profile."

You will need your COD student ID number.

myAccess
To order a College of DuPage transcript, you will need your COD Student
Identification Number.

If you do not know your College of DuPage Student Identification Number,


please contact the Registration Office at (630) 942-2377, Student Services
Center (SSC), Room 2221 registration@cod.edu.

Transcripts are ordered through your myAccess account. To set up an


account:

1. Go to myACCESS.cod.edu

2. Click on "I'm new to myACCESS" to set up your account. Use


your COD student ID#.

3. Once account is set up, click on "myACCESS for Students", and

follow links under "Academic Profile" for Transcript Request.


Here you can "Order an Official Transcript" and have it sent
directly from COD to your university.
