MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Leviticus 22-24; Matthew 27:1-22
Monday, February 15
Song of Solomon 5:4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my
bowels were moved for him.
Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how
much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Wonderful Savior:
I believe right prayer will give right answers and bring right power. So
I am bold to ask for spiritual comfort, for maturing gifts, for enabling gracefor
revival! I thank you because you will not mock my request by giving me
something that only addresses the superficial. Revival, since it is a work of the
Spirit of grace, always deals with root issues.
Give me the faith in 2016 to ask for the best blessings, richest graces,
highest work, and closest fellowship with Christ. Because whatever is happening
to me right now, I know you have not given me a stone, serpent, or scorpion (vv
11-12). You are not treating me ungenerously. And were I as able to judge reality
and goodness as you, I would recognize you are giving me the best possible
things to enable the Holy Spirits operation in my life.
So trials may surround me (they do!), but your love is right there. All my
faith has to do is open one eye to see I am not dealing even with apparent evil,
but evident good. Blind unbelief is what misrepresents your work, your ways, and
your heart. Give me a clearer eye of faith to see the truth!
Let me seek and see truth regarding my own frailty and faults. I seek
repentance from the Holy Ghost through Jesus Christ. I come to you Father, to
say,
Psa. 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
If my heart is not broken and contrite, break it and heal it. Give me a
tender spirit. My longing is toward you. Deal with me in a way that brings revival,
for so I ask it in Jesus precious name. Amen.
1 Cor. 7:35 And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon
you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 1-3; Matthew 27:45-66
Wednesday, February 17
1 Pet. 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving
honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life;
that your prayers be not hindered.
Heavenly Father:
Prayer is such an important thing; it is the channel by which rivers of
revival come to me, the window through which you supply so much grace. Prayer
is my ship that trades with heaven, and comes back home stacked with treasures.
It is so invaluable, the danger of my hindering it is used by Peter as a motive for
why husbands and wives have to behave according to their biblical roles.
Anything that hinders prayer is sin. If anything regarding my family is
injuring my power in prayer, then there is urgent reason for change! Any behavior
or attitude or habit that leaves us un-joined as heirs of grace is evil.
Prayer affects my spiritual power. To confine it is spiritual injury, and a
dangerous tendency. When I am on my knees I am really and truly before you,
my God. Men see me only on the surface, but your eyes pry into the recesses of
my soul. If you see I am prayerlessnot just on my knees now, but in my soul
during the daythen you make little of my trials and nothing of my efforts.
Make me a person of earnest prayer! Give me the spirit of prayer, so it is
habitual for my heart to talk with Jesus all day. Then things will be right with me.
But if that is not my case right now and my prayers are hindered, show me what
needs to be ejected out of my spiritual system to make it right. Show me what is
lacking that I need to supply.
Prov. 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
And living prayers are what deal with those issues and bring revival. You
see the hindrances; I repent of the sin. Hear me today for Jesus sake. Amen.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan
Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
