Technical Requirements for all term Papers;
Word processed, Calibri Font 11, 1.5 Paragraph spacing, margins justified, short bond
paper. References on separate page. Attach pictures if necessary. No specific number of
pages required but substantial enough to qualify the paper as outstanding. Paper has to be
placed inside a short brown envelope for submission.
Instructions:
Make a list of local environmental issues prevalent in the barangay which your group
chose for the previous paper. From among the issues, choose one (1) of which in your
assessment is the most prevalent. Make a Case Study of the issue chosen. The Case Study
must strictly follow the template provided below:

LOC GOV PAPER REQUIREMENT:

1. You have to submit a course paper of not less than 5 pages ( font 12, short bond
paper, double space) with the topic: Good Governance at the Grassroots:
Assessing Barangay Performance
2. Choose and identify a barangay. It is best to choose the barangay where you
presently reside for convenience and practicality.
3. Justify your answer by presenting:
a. A brief introductory background of the barangay.
b. A standard for assessment (minimum indicators for good governance
(Examples: fiscal management, public participation, environmental measures,
health programs, traffic management, peace and order solutions, small
business incentives, etc.)
c. Identify the strengths, opportunities and weaknesses of the barangay you have
chosen based on the standards and indicators you have set.
4. This paper is due for submission at 6 p.m on April 23,2015 you may earn a 10point bonus if you submit your paper at least a week in advance of the deadline.
However, you will get a 5-point deduction if you submit your paper beyond the
deadline and a 3-point deduction for every day of delay thereafter.
5. This paper shall serve as your final examination. The grade you will receive for
this paper will constitute 40% of your final grade.
