Sealed bids will be received until the hour of 2:00 P.M., local time on Tuesday,
March 8, 2016 in the Purchasing Department, Suite 4400, Jefferson Parish
General Government Building, located at 200 Derbigny Street, Gretna,
Louisiana, 70053, and publicly opened upon completion of administrative tasks
for the following:
Rehabilitation of Pailet Pump Station
Jefferson Parish Public Works No. 2012-012-DR
Description of Work: The CONTRACTOR shall provide professional
construction services that are required for the Rehabilitation of the Pailet Pump
Station.
All bids must be in accordance with the contract documents on file with the
Jefferson Parish Purchasing Department, Suite 4400, Jefferson Parish General
Government Building, at 200 Derbigny Street, Gretna, Louisiana. All bidders
must show the Bid Proposal Number on the outside of their bid envelope and on
the bid proposal. Late bids will not be accepted.
Each Bid must be accompanied by certified check, cashiers check, or bid bond
acceptable to the owner in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total
amount bid, and payable without condition to the owner. If submitting a bid
online, vendors must submit an electronic bid bond through the respective
online clearinghouse bond management system(s) as indicated in the electronic
bid Solicitation on Central Auction House. No scanned paper copies of any bid
bond will be accepted as part of the electronic bid submission.
The drawings and specifications are on file and open for inspection in the
Jefferson Parish Purchasing Department, Suite 4400, Jefferson Parish General
Government Building, at 200 Derbigny Street, Gretna, Louisiana. A complete
set of Contract Documents may be secured from CDM Smith, 1515 Poydras
Street, Suite 1000, New Orleans, LA 70112 (PHONE 504-799-1100, FAX 504412-8260) by licensed contractors upon receipt of $80.00 per set. Deposit on the
first set of documents furnished bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded
upon return of documents in good condition no later than ten (10) days after
receipts of bids.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond
guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract. Companies providing the
bonds shall comply with the requirements of LRS-R.S. 38:2218 and R.S. 38:2219
as applicable.
The Jefferson Parish Council reserves the right to reject all bids and to reject
bids for just cause, pursuant to the law.

Description of Work: The work consists of construction of a 220 cfs, pile
supported drainage pump station, triple barrel 36 diameter forcemain and
earthen berm improvements along the Cross Canal. The Pump Station will
include pile supported structures, earthwork and mechanical and electrical
components. The force main will include pile supported bents, an aerial canal
crossing and construction of discharge basin headwall / weir. The earthen berm
improvements include the construction of a berm along the Cross Canal.

CLERK III GRAND ISLE ($21,955/per year) - Applicants must be willing and
able to accept a Clerk III position in GRAND ISLE and must meet the following
requirements: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalency certificate
and sufficient and varied, complex clerical experience. SUBSTITUTION:
Completion of clerical training above the level of high school and directly related

LEVEE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REGULAR MEETING
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13, 2016
11:00 A.M.
The Grand Isle Independent Levee District met on Wednesday, January 13,
2016, at
11:00 a.m. in a regular meeting at the Grand Isle Multiplex Center with the
following commissioners:
Present: 3 Commissioners David Camardelle, Kelly Besson, Sr., and Arthur
Bellanger
Absent: 0
President Camardelle called the meeting to order and then led with the Pledge of
Allegiance, followed by a prayer.
A motion was made by Commissioner Besson, seconded by Commissioner
Bellanger and unanimously agreed to approve the minutes of the meeting held
on December 8, 2015 as read.
Mr. Laine Landry was recognized and stated that the Hurricane Hole is looking
at installing rock breakwaters. President Camardelle stated the levee board has
permits to install rock breakwaters on the north side of Grand Isle and can meet
with our engineers and look at our design. The Hurricane Hole might be able to
use our design and permits to install more breakwaters.
President Camardelle gave the following report on levee board projects: 1. The
Fifi Island Rock and Restoration Project Phase I is complete. Additional money
will be needed to level the rock breakwaters on the north side of this project.
2. The levee board has the permit to complete the original segmented rock
breakwaters on the north side of Grand Isle.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bellanger, seconded by Commissioner
Besson and unanimously agreed to approve the expenses associated with
operating the levee board.
A motion was made by Commissioner Besson, seconded by Commissioner
Bellanger and unanimously agreed to approve the construction of a pier, wharf
and boat shed for Brad Pregeant on the bayside of Grand Isle.
A joint motion was made by the board of commissioners of the levee district to
grant final acceptance to Bertucci Contracting Company for the Fifi Island Rock
and Restoration Project Phase 1.
President Camardelle stated that the BP Oil Spill is still affecting the beach. Oil
is washing up daily on the beach and other levee districts along the Mississippi
River are dealing with the high water issues.
A joint motion was made by the board of commissioners to approve 2 loads of
Clay mud from GIS to install flood gate on the levee between Orange and Iris
Lane. This will help with tidal conditions and with Santiny Lane Pump Station.
The town will install the flood gate.
President Camardelle will meet with Senator Scalise later this month in New
Orleans. Mr. Camardelle will be going to Washington later this month and meet
with the Louisiana Delegation in Washington to help with getting money to
build more breakwaters.
President Camardelle congratulated the newly elected state officials Governor
Edwards, Lt. Governor Nungesser, Senator Alario and Representative Gisclair
and look forward to working with them on future projects to continue our fight to
save the island. He also congratulated Johnny Bradberry for his appointment to
CPRA and looks forward to showing Mr. Bradberry the projects for Grand Isle.
A motion was made by Commissioner Besson, seconded by Commissioner
Bellanger and unanimously agreed to adjourn the meeting at 11:42 p.m.
