PARKING AT FIRST PRES

Part of making our church a welcoming place for guests is
to make our campus as accessible as possible.
Take advantage of our parking garage across the street.
The church shares ownership in this garage and helps to
maintain it so our members can easily find free parking
every Sunday and during the week.
Street and on-campus parking is for visitors, seniors and
those who need extra accessibility to the buildings.
If you are a church member and would like to purchase
a parking card for the church garage for $10, please stop
by the lobby desk at Edington Ministry Center during the
week to complete the application.

NOTES

traditional
W O R S H I P

On this first Sunday in the season of Lent, we are reminded

of our failure to always uphold the name of Christ. The
reminder comes from the money bag hanging from the
cross. Judas betrayed his Lord for a few coins of silver.
When Jesus did not do what Judas or the people wanted
in the time frame they had in mind, they rejected him and in
effect, snuffed out the light he brought to their dark worlds.
It is easy to look back at those people with critical eyes
and fail to see our own times of betrayal. The candles
speak of Jesus as the Light of the world with each of the
six weeks dimming as we draw closer and closer to his
ultimate sacrifice that brought salvation to all who would
put their trust in him. Weve gathered today in worship to
re-focus and re-tune our hearts and minds and to confess
our sins as we offer worship to our faithful and gracious
Redeemer and Lord.
