Recyclemania

All recycling and trash data are submitted as weights instead of volume. This can be done in either pounds or metric kilograms. Reported weights
should be based on actual observed recycling and trash generation. Participating schools must collect and report data for 10 weeks.

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE.

A single plastic bottle provides enough energy to


power a computer for 25 minutes.

Recycling one ton of mixed paper has the ability to


save 17 trees and 4200 kilowatt hours of

Did you know that USF ranked 152 out of 191 schools in the ‘Per Capita Classic' Division of Recyclemania in 2010? This particular division is composed of
schools trying to compete to see who has the highest cumulative recyclables’ per pound per person in which USF came in at 2.25. 'Waste Minimization',
